Raslink
Yeah the light armor is not useless. At master the increase of light armor is 150% +25% from master armorer thats almost double the AC of light armor..I say light armor is far better than heavy. Plus you can run fater :P -R-
Cyborg16
I use light armour --- haven't looked too much at the difference between light and heavy though. If you need to carry more, just get the callsteed and saddlebags mods and use horses as pack animals! Most horses can carry about 500lb and you can use several at once. You might have to make several trips through a dungeon to get everything though (at least if you have a sub-200lb carrying capacity like my char)! ShadowRain
yeah thats right. the 50% increase in armor you get from a master perk in light armor is sweeeeet, a full set of glass and that perk and your up to just a bit less then heavy armor max, sometimes just sometimes armor is actually a fun addition to burying your blade into the spine of a sleeping npc :D :D
Rhydderch Hael
Of course, Heavy Armor at Master level is just as light as Light Armor and offers slightly better protection. The only possible downside is Heavy Armor being less stealthy than Light Armor. Unless, of course, you've been mastering Sneak alongside your preferred armor choice— then HA's disadvantage disappears at Journeyman sneaking level. And if you haven't been tending to Sneak while achieving mastery in Heavy Armor, that pretty much tells me that you've been getting by pretty darned well without stealth attacks for quite some time— so why start fretting about HA's noisiness now? ;)
Gibson_Goth
I have been Using Heavy armor and light armor througout the game but im not exactly very far, but I use heave Cuirass' and heavy gauntlets and helmets but light boots and greaves for sneak and usually a light shield because I dont know if its true but it seems as though when you get knocked back from a powerful hit from an enemy you can recover on putting your shield up faster with a light armor shield than with a heavy. If this isn't true please corrrect me. And when is Mehrunes Razor coming out I stayed up till 12 am last night hoping it would come out at midnight, and its now 9:53 am and its still not out whats going on. t4t3rs
I've been using Mithril armor with 2 +20% and +30% chameleon rings, which I found somewhere in the plains of Oblivion methinks, for Stealth jobs. Although now with the mask of gray fox and my stealth ring, I can have 110 Stealth in my heavy. :)Full Daedric (enchanted with strength, speed, and some other things), master heavy armorer, hardcore mage... beats any light armor, considering even when half my items are at 50% durability, I still have 80+ armor. lolAs for running, I bought myself a 180 second 100-something feather spell which makes me run faster than most animals and gives me a total of 700 carrying capacity (together with my armor's strength enchant). In the end, once you get to a high enough level Heavy armor beats light armor by a substantial amount. :P(Tanking it hard! :D) Ok, now onto the topic:Armorer kicks arse! Simple enough. :PBefore I got journeyman (at which point you can repair enchanted items), I had to pay thousands of gold (since all my armor and weapons are enchanted) at once to repair my suit after doing a couple of missions. And now... each hammer costs 10 and lasts quite a while. Works for me.
Vicrry
I never doubted the general usefulness of armorer, I learned how useful it was way back in the Morrowind days. I just thought that the skill's Expert perk would make useless armor (Like Mithril and leather) that I like the looks of useful again. It didn't, and I was severely disappointed after putting in all those hammers. Also, heavy armor is just much, much more useful than light armor - even with my skill in heavy being half my light. I was amazed at the sudden increase in survivability when I started using orcish instead of mithril, but I haven't been able to overcome the weight issue that goes along with. I've got several new ideas from this thread, as soon as I replace a busted graphics card I will have to try them. Like getting my heavy armor skill to the expert level or whatnot to reduce weight and then speed/strength enchant the whole set. oh, and master armorer so I don't have to carry multiple hammers. cactoblasta
Armorer isn't that easy to level though unless you wear armour (odd that hey). On an archer character I made I had armorer as a major skill. I barely added 10 to it in 20 levels. While the +25% effectiveness is great, you're still better off focusing on something else if you don't plan on getting hit.

Loot him and fix up his gear before you sell it off or drop it off. This helps with your armorer training. Speaking of which, the trainers for the skill aren't that hard to find. The HA salesman in the City and the smith in Chorrol, for instance. If you're there selling off gear, you can always purchase some training as well. ReinKruze
Well, light armor is now almost useless - just not enough protection. How much Feather will fit as a constant effect on heavy armor? Will it hold enough to reduce it's weight to the level of light armor? I just can't lug it and a decent amount of loot around. no actually- because light armor is so very "light" :P its alot faster, it weighs less, it costs ALOT less, and truth be told, it does offer some good armor rating points, even compared to heavy armor.
