Fonger
searching this forum on "feature transfer error" turns up an older name for the problem "crc" error common cure clean disk or install in safe mode (and operating system function)
CDP5280
I've already tried safe mode and my discs are squeaky clean, not a scratch on them.
Illiad86
searching this forum on "feature transfer error" turns up an older name for the problem "crc" error common cure clean disk or install in safe mode (and operating system function) The error says "access is denied" not " cyclic redundancy check". Under file it would say what file is corrupted and under error it would say "Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)" if that was the case. Are you running as admin when you install the game? yeldarb
Remember to install Oblivion outside of Program Files and >>>UAC<<< monitoring. Install it in C:Games\Oblivion, installing it in C:Program Files is not a good idea if you plan on adding a mod!
CDP5280
I wasn't able to figure out was causing the error, but I found a work-around. I copied all the files from the disc to my desktop and successfully installed Oblivion from there.
