want to find a texture editor for fallout 3

i'm looking for a texture editor for fallout 3, nothing major, i'd just like to edit the textures of the outcasts in this mod

I'd like to make them look a bit more rusted like they do in vanilla

 

buying something is not an option, no money, so it really needs to be freeware or something

 

I'm not gonna use any bootlegged copies of anything either.

Dang, I was hoping for an opportunity to use that LMGTFY thing, but it won't work right now.

 

A free version of Photoshop is called GIMP. It's made by some people who didn't like how ludicrously expensive Photoshop is, and they've made it pretty much the same, with all the same tools and features.

yeah i have gimp but will it work with the texture files fallout 3 uses?

You'll need to download a .dds converter. There's one right here on the site. I prefer to use Irfanview to first open the files, the paste them into GIMP. Search for an Irfanview .dds plugin, or just use one online for letting GIMP open and save as .dds.

Both GIMP and Paint.net have .dds importer/exporters :smile:.
