Objects Not Appearing In-Game

Recommended Posts

I thought that the Island of Stirk would make a great location for Hentai's Lovely House, so I modified the tr_stirk.esp to accommodate it, and then placed the house and some furnishing around the outside in a different mod.

I was careful not to touch anything in the Stirk mod when placing the items in a different mod; I just used the Stirk mod to get the placement mod.

However, when I go to the house, the ONLY thing that appears from the mod where I placed the house is the front door and an xMarkerHeading that I used to teleport there from Anvil.

I had a similar experience when attempting to run both Stirk and Hammerfell at the same time. They are NOT compatible with each other, as Hammerfell also places an island DIRECTLY ON TOP of where Stirk is (hmmm, that can't be a coincidence... but that is a different subject).

Anyway, the Hammerfell had the same effect on Stirk, most of Stirk simply was not there. One would expect the two mods to be superimposed on each other, like pieces of Stirk sticking through Hammerfell. However, most of Stirk simply was not there.

(I have subsequently disabled Hammerfell as it conflicts with EVERYTHING, although I did give it a good College try first by deleting most of the bad references in TES4edit).

So, what causes objects to simply not appear In-Game?

Typically, when two mods place things on top of each other, both objects do appear In-Game, as funky as that makes them look.

The objects I placed are definitely in the mod; I can see them right where they are supposed to be using TES4edit.

Yes, thank you; always try the obvious things first, but the Door was there and was visilbe. It even worked. I could go through, and inside is a Lovely House, go back outside, and there is just a door floating in space.

On a hunch I tried making the exterior of the house and a couple of other pices Persistant References, and sure enough, that makes them appear in game.I have a bunch of tomatoes and plates and patio furniture; I'd rather not have to make them all Persistant References...

SOMETHING is going on, something specific to be causing this.

When I installed Hammerfell, suddently one of the buildings in the IC Market District, and one of the streets were gone, not just invisible, simply not there; I could walk through the building like there was nothing there, again, with doors floating in space. Here's the kicker, there were a couple of crates that I had placed in my mod, and they too were gone.

I could kind of understand if Hammerfell had inadvertantly deleted some thing from the IC Market Distrect, but it could not have deleted the crates from my mod.

Load Order does not matter; I always have my own mod load last.

Hammerfell has some "World Children" in addition to the normal worldspace records under "Worldspace" when I view it in TES4edit. When I deleted the "World Children" records that referenced the Market District, everything reappeared.

Stirk does not have any of these World Children records, and neither does my mod, so that cannot be the root of the problem.

But, at least I now know there is a workaround. However, as I said, I would really prefer not to have to make all my lawn furniture, lights, and bushes Persistant References...
