Getting PC to look at camera

Hey everyone,

simple request today, is it possible to get the player character (or any character) to look directly at the camera using the console? I know there's a "look" control, but that requires a refID, which the camera doesn't have (or if it does, I don't know it). Anyone care to illuminate my problem? :)

Right :thumbsup: That's true for the PC.

Additional NPCs make the thing tricky cos they're usually focused on the PC (a);

takes some time to handle this (b)

a) Oblivion

b) Fallout, but it makes no difference at all

Give it a try, it's worth it :yes:

Thanks for the replies!

I've been using the TFC command for a while now to get a good angle for screenshots, but what I'm talking about here is getting the PC's head to follow the camera, so that he's always looking straight at the screen.

Look Here You

Look in the direction you want to look in thought the third-person camera. Up and down is easy, but left and right is tricky - you'll have to enter the console while turning.

..Speaking of which, anyone know if there's a mod where the player looks around after a minute of sitting or standing idle while in third person? Maybe even take a kneel or sit down while in crouch and there's no creatures or hostile NPCs about?

Ah, thank you for that! Though it is impossible to get a shot while my PC's head is turned, the up/down function is more than adequate. A very nice mod, too, definitely a keeper. :)

Also, Ziitch, you might want to try the Personality Idles mod for activating an animation after a period of idle standing. You might need to custom-modify it to get your PC to sit down when idle, but I'm sure it's do-able.
