[Unsolved] Game crashes while playing

Recommended Posts

Game crashes at kind of random points. This does not happen when I start the game without mods/SKSE.

Intel Core Duo CPS @3GHz

4GB ram

I've always ran Skyrim before.

Perviously used NMM with a bunch of mods. Had problems, switched over.

Mod Organizer

SKSE

SkyUI

Racemenu

FNIS

TES5Edit

NB: For all of these I used reliable Youtube guides, and everything is up to date as of yesterday (5/10/14).

More specifid info:

Played VANILLA Skyrim for last 2 months non-modded with no problems. Started using NMM with a bunch of mods cause I thought it was cool. It worked well for a bit, but then I started to get a random crash after a few too many mods.

Switched to Mod Organiser cause I was told it can see overwrited and is easilr to clean mods with. Tried, failed, tried, failed.
I tried new installs, I tried importing from NMM, I tried all I could think of or find ideas about.

In the end I thought that maybe I missed a mod that may have required the 3 DLC (like dragonborn) so I downloaded them and installed them. No change.

Then I reinstalled skyrim, again, the game only works when not running SKSE or other mods.

Sometimes the crash happens almost randomly. Sometimes in the loading screan (of a load or a travel) and at one point it was always being activated by a certain wolf.

I was also having another problem with that wolf, that his animation would stutter like a stobe when attacking me (before eventually crashing me).

Yes I can get this game to the point where I can play it without mods, but that's not what I want. I want the mods, I very much enjoy them and love them. Especially graphical ones like Pure Water.

Yes..that told me more then asking 10 Questions...this it the important parts of what you posted..(with Notes)

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate <<<<That's good (least its not XP)
System Type X86-based PC <<<that's not (see note below}
Processor Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz <<<Doable for the Vanilla and a FEW mods
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB <<<Because this is not a 64 bit System you do not get a full 4 GB of RAM.
Total Physical Memory 3.50 GB <<<ALL window can see of your 4GB
Available Physical Memory 1.37 GB <<<All that's left for the game after windows is done being a pig.
Name ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series <<< Barely at the MIN for Skyrim
Adapter RAM 512.00 MB <<<bare MIN.
Play with a minimal amount of mods, stay away from texture mods...DO not use the High RES Texture packs from Bethesda.

In the future, if you get CTDs at startup, or at random points, you can use TES5Edit to help figure out what the problem is. A lot of CTDs at start up are caused by load order issues, specifically one mod is missing a required mod/masterfile (I.e.: If you download a mod that requires SKSE or SkyUI or MCM, etc., but you don't have one of those required mods, it will CTD at startup). This mod --> http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50471/? allows you to allow your first memory block to use more memory, thus preventing some CTDs at random points in the game.

Agreed. Your system is at the bare minimum for Skyrim in general, and adding mods to it will either slow your performance or just give you crashes.

Yeah using the SSME or newest SKSE could definitely help you out. However you may never notice the effects due to your low amount of RAM available to you on your x86 (32 bit) system.

EnbBoost could also help, but really for you, it just comes down to only a handful of mods, or just one or two at a time would really be the way to go.

I feel for you though, vanilla skyrim vs modded is just boring
