Kotick wants to weaken Xbox Live and PSN dominance

Am I the only one who thinks this bloke is living in a world of his own? Having a PC that plugs into a TV doesn't make it a gaming machine and I can't see the likes of HP and Dell suddenly making machines capable of running games at a decent level. Anyway Kotick isn't exactly loved by the PC gaming community.

Wait, what? A PC that plugs into a TV? That's.. Redundant. Consoles are PC's that plug into a TV! Regular PC's can plug into a TV!

And there's no point to it, they just get a lower resolution.

Who is this Kotick guy anyways?

What lower res, HDMI anyone at 1080P

nothing beats a pc game when it comes to graphics and resolution. Though there is the ps3, games like Gran turismo 5 and Dead rising. Its not the online service I'm after, its the games.

The ps3 looks really good with a HDMI cable and a HD tv, whats the difference not much.

The 360 in the other hand there is.

Kotick is the guy in charge of Activision-Blizzard, for those who are wondering.

And it makes sense he wants to weaken Sony, MS, and Nintendo. After all, anyone who releases a game on their consoles has to pay them a massive licensing fee for each copy sold, which eats into profits. Whereas PC is an open platform - no licensing fees, anyone can release whatever they want, etc. Of course, no doubt what he'd really like, is for everyone to pay him licensing fees instead, but I doubt that'll happen (though no doubt he'll try).

I'm with ub3rman123 on this. Who or what is Kotick?

Wait what? Who is he?

The CEO of Activision. I personally dislike him and his ideas, especially since they're now merged with blizzard and how it might affect their future games.

For example, blizzard are known to take their time with games and not release until it's finished, but activion's stockholders might not like this, and simply say "Hey, if this was activision, it'd be out now, what gives? we want our money". I'm concerned how this will affect the quality of blizz' upcoming games.

And also this whole deal with the goddamn micro transactions and monthly fee for battlenet in some areas of the world.

Not saying it's actually his fault as I don't know for sure, I'm just concerned.

But a gamer-friendly PC is just redundant! That's all a console is..

He wants to make another console? I doubt it'll succeed, there's never enough games at launch unless you're established in the business already.

Maybe I'm just biased in my dislike for Kotick, but I'm inclined to blame him. It seems like EVERYTHING the dill-weed touches goes in this direction.

EDIT: And if MS and Sony DO get weakened in the console dept. I don't want Kotick getting his grubby, greedy claws on anything that doesn't explode with less force than an atom bomb. It would be bad enough if two developers who have already proven to do decent jobs wind up in the drink, but if Kotick steps in to take their places, it'd be a full blown disaster.
