tx12001
Are you all aware that the Dragonborn has the Immortal soul of a dragon? and all those Dragons are aspects of Akatosh including the Dragonborn so the Dragonborn can make a deal with any Daedric prince they want but they would never be able to take their soul due to their soul being an aspect of a far more powerful god named Akatosh. so even if they tried they would have to deal with Akatosh and they would not succeed. Not to mention the Dragonborn has absorbed how many dragon souls? Edited October 9, 2014 by tx12001
Valkasha
Akatosh is not a god of afterlife.. If you die in Skyrim you either go to sovngarde if you are pure and completed the main quest, to hircines hunting grounds if you are a werewolf or you end up as part of the shadows if you pledge to nocturnal. Making a new contract breaks the last one, so yeah hircine will be pretty displeased with you if you cure the companions and yourself of the beast blood and yeah nocturnal will be pretty displeased if you take the skeleton key for yourself rather than returning it to her (remember, nocturnal is powerless over the thiefguild members and you won't become a part of the shadow if you never return the skeleton key but keep it yourself, even though that means the thieves guild will never stop having bad luck) Edited October 10, 2014 by Valkasha
Doozerpindan
While I do enjoy this debate and the many others I have about Skyrim and other games, I did make this thread to ask for a mod to be made (if possible) :)
Himeki
Hey, I'm making this request because the only mod I can find that did this no longer works and hasn't been updated in over two years. I want a mod that allows me to essentially tell Nocturnal to screw herself. I mean, I'm the Dragonborn, I can kill Alduin, Harkon & Miraak without any deal, why do I need to sell my soul to kill Mercer Frey? I really like the Thieves Guild questline, but my Dragonborn despises the Daedra and would never sell his soul to one, yet I am forced to do so in order to finish the questline.Do you have a link to this? If permissions are free I could try to at least update it to get it working. I promise nothing, but I could at least try.

Yes, the mod creator has specifically asked for another modder to fix his mod cos he doesn't know how to. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18685/? AlexeiNuVille
I think tx12001 has a valid point, not only because a character not aligned with the daedra will (in any story) refuse such a deal, but for the sake of CHOICE. Sky rim is an open world RPG yet many times along the questlines it railroads the player into one possible solution AND ONE ONLY. Is not cohesive with the very nature of the game and is seriously in conflict with the plot lined up by the very creators of the game. As a Dovahkiin your soul belongs to Akatosh, tha t is explained to the main character in the main questions, being Dragonborn is a gift from Akatosh since all dragons are his "sons" because they cannot be born but they are created by Akatosh himself. Nocturnal, being a deity, is well aware of this and knows that cannot strike a deal on the soul of a son of Akatosh. Moreover, what if you are a vampire? Then you are direct or indirectly, a servant of Molag Bal. What if you are a werewolf? Then your afterlife should be on the Eternal Hunt alongside Hircine. Ah, but you are Dovahkiin, and by defeating Alduin you've earned a place in Sovngarde. The point is, not ALL the gods will have your soul, only ONE can, and the quest lines of the game should reflect that, because that, is what makes The Elder Scrolls so epic. Not other word, EPIC.
