monkeycid
Hi guys! I'm having difficulty trying to install SKSE with Nexus Mod Manager. I know how to install manually but I want to install everything with NMM for ease of use. I've created a zip file but only the Data folder is installed properly and I can't figure out how to install the exe and dll files through NMM. Could anyone provide a short tutorial or link to one, please?
Valkasha
My experience with installing through NMM is that it often doesn't work, I would stick to manual install since there is absolutely no benefit to installing it with NMM, if you use the installer file on the SKSE page NMM will also recognize it as installed when using the launch with SKSE option. There should also be installation instructions in the "ReadMe" that is included in the download.
cdcooley
NMM (by design) only installs standard mods which consist of things that live in the Skyrim/data folder. SKSE's EXE and DLL files have to be installed in the main Skyrim folder and NMM simply can't do that. You can choose to make an archive of the script files and install those with NMM, but frankly at this point it is much easier to simply use the automatic SKSE installer. If anything breaks (after verifying your game cache, a mod overwriting an important file, etc.) just re-run the installer.
Rabbit1251
SKSE is not a mod nor does it install like a mod. Watch Gopher's video on the subject or better still use the auto installer at Silverlock.org. Rabbit

cdcooley
i looked on the page and the readme document mentions nothing about Nexus mod manager. i personally think NMM doesn't support SKSE. Please read the last few posts above. NMM isn't mentioned because NMM only installs mods and SKSE isn't a mod. It would be more accurate to say that NMM doesn't support SKSE.
