SPB Mod Removal

I didn't see anyone else mention a single thing about this so I decided to write here since it's news to me. SPB ,overnight it seems, started to systematically take down all his\her mods that had some sort of sexual content to it. Now for those that he\she commented on being in violation of a franchise or copyright I understand but that's only one of many that were taken down. My question is what happened? I go to the forums to see if there was any news and the only thing I found was that SPB was banned for uploading an adult image in the normal imageshare section. He\She was quickly unbanned in order to show leniency from the moderator and to have a smooth transition from the old rules to the new ones concerning images. Was that action responsible for such a brutal change?

That's sad

As I said to my friends

There is no one really know that Tes Nexus has became a "paid for adult content" web site

Most people still see it as a database, the most well know policies are no animals sex, child porn and corpse sex.

Not a lot of Asians modders learn about the new policies of Tes Nexus nowadays.

Especially Japanese modders, they don't have a national wide modder forums, even the Japanese Modder forum is like TesEyecandy, once it was a glory, but now it is a dying community.

And one thing to notice, is that the free members image view page does not say anything regarding adult content,

only the supporter image view page has it.

It is a sad thing to have SPB leaving Tes Nexus.

I don't think the pay-for-adult-content idea is to blame, as I believe that was scrapped and instead stricter moderation was put in place. I think it's just a misinterpretation of a poorly-translated PM; TESN is an English-based site, despite having a worldwide reputation, but for those who have English as a second language or don't know English (and just make translations of their descriptions and replies) are left out of the loop in various degrees. Then again, it may have been his/her decision to take them down after all.

The only idea I have about minimizing a situation like this is to make location country-wise a required field, and by looking at the posts of that user, determine if moderators and admins need to translate their PMs so that they can be well understood by that person. This brings about a new type of user as well - If you are a contributor, supporter, or well-accepted into the community, and have high fluency in the written form of a language other than English, you can apply to be a Translator for PMs that need to go to people that have little to no understanding of English, or to translate announcements and other administrative declarations. Now, that does mean that translators have to agree to a privacy clause for PMs, but that's a given; but this might just clear up a lot of things for several people who can only communicate through a text translator, which most tend to be poor for languages that have very different sentence structures when translating from one to the other.

Perhaps he was confused by the PM and decided to leave. Or perhaps he was insulted and decided to take his work elsewhere. We may never know.

Remember folks, this never become a pay-for-adult-content site... the fee for the Supporter Imageshare was supposed to be a more solid (but not perfect) method of filtering out the younger folk as far as adult images were concerned. The very small fee simply reinforces the fact that, as an adult, you probably have a bank account and credit/bank card.

Nevertheless, this new system in no way limits an individual from adult related mods, which is another reason why it's a drag that he removed his stuff. Again, could have been a misunderstanding, could have been a personal decision. Either way, it's something we must respect as his own choice.

Shiki sets are still here, which seems to mean he's not intending to leave. This is likely just a misunderstanding.

Also, I don't think it would be wise to PM him with explanations of the rules again and again. I'm sure it was done several times already, no need to spam poor man's inbox.

Saying you're paying to see nudity is kind of odd... You'd essentially donate 1.6 USD to upgrade your account to Supporter status, which has its own benefits, one of which includes access to the Supporter Image Share, where nudity is allowed. Read my above post for a brief reason of why this change took place.

It seems most likely just confusion after the Image Share ban. I myself was also one of the ones banned at the same time for it, I know for me the problem was assuming the definition of nudity was universal and not realizing that even too much cleavage counts as nudity on the new rules. Personally I only started uploading images after the post about Activity Points which to me seemed like a call for more participation from the community on the site, so I think after that a lot of new people who weren't as familiar with all of the rules started using it.

Hopefully it is just a misunderstanding about the Image Share situation and they will put their mods back up.

Now this a big bummer. :(

I was wondering why SPB mods were suddenly not downloadable all of a sudden. Good thing I already have most of his work in safe storage though I too hope he'll upload them all back 'cause I think his stuff is pretty darn cool. Sure, there's a lot of nudity but at least there's also a good measure of taste in them.

Here's to this just being an adjustment phase for the new rules. *fingers crossed*

I see so nexus implemented the small supporter fee for image share because kids can easily lie about there age and can access adult content easily but cant pay for stuff online as easily as adults can. still a 1$ something fee might as well think of a new plan for image share
