OOO Cape problem

Title says it all pretty much.

 

Whenever I go to a chest or to loot a corpse or even to buy something my cape unequips itself. It's still in my inventory, it just keeps equipping.

 

Can anyone help me? Thanks!=)

I have not heard of this bug with OOO, so I would suspect another mod being at fault.

Capes are often equipped in amulet, hair or tail slots. Another mod that is trying to equip an item in order to perform certain functionality (i.e., a script-centric mod that needs have a character equip a ring or something) might be taking over that slot whenever your inventory is loaded.

I'm going to try putting toggleable quantity prompt before OOO. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try downloading capes and cloaks and make it load last...hopefully that will work. I'll post back soon. I'm still open to any suggestions you have.

It IS a known bug with OOO, just from an earlier version that everybody has forgotten about.

 

The fix would be to find the most current version 1.34 beta 5 (which is better in ALL respects anyway).

Alright, I just downloaded the 1.34 beta 5...its acting a bit weird. Some of the chests around me are showing up as big yellow triangles with exclamation points in them.

 

The crimson cape that was in my inventory has disappeared, and some of the citizens are walking around without clothes.

 

This is pretty weird...if you have any suggestions on how to fix this, I would appreciate them.

Some of the capes in OOO are scripted to auto-equip on NPCs. This is due to the fact that NPCs do not equip items that use the TAIL slot. It may be that you are using one of these scripted cloaks, and the script is what is causing the unexpected behaviour.

That makes perfect sense, because only the ones I got from drops caused a problem.

 

Is there any way to remove the script with the console?

No. Even if there was, you would have to identify which of the 31 cape equiping scripts was assigned to YOUR cape. And then, ALL capes with that script would be deactivated from becoming equiped on NPCs. You could always find an equal cape in the CS without a script, and replace yours with that one in the console. Or better still, buy one -- vendor bought capes don't come with scripts.
