richardrahl853
ok so basically im attempting to use the built in sheson memory fix in the 1.7.1 SKSE program. im told that sheson's memory fix was added from 1.7 alpha and above. ive seen ALOT of different post on ideas of how to implement it ranging from creating a SKSE folder inside the data folder and then creating a text doc inside that folder called skse.ini and adding 3 lines of code for memory, and initial size w/e. I also saw a post about download C++ and using that to somehow modify some file. there was another that talked about downloading the archive instead of the installer, zipping up certain files and making some kinda make shift mod out of it that would activate the memory fix. this stuff is a bit over my head and im frankly just looking for a stupid version on how to do this. I clicked and watched the youtube video on the SKSE site that they recommended if I needed help installing, and even that states that its out of date and recommends against using the installer but doesn't really tell me how to manual install it. ive only ever used the installer before, and was never able to find any skse.ini file anywhere. if any of yall know a simple way to fix this up im open to suggestions. I learned I could just download the skse and run a different program like SKME (which I haven't used before) for the memory fix, but if im going to run SKSE and it has the memory fix built in why not use it instead of downloading another program on top of it? Chadonraz
Well, here's how I did it (and it is working; eliminated all infinite loading screens and freezes): Created a new text file called SKSE.ini with the following content:[General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 Saved it in .../Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data/SKSE If you don't have the SKSE folder under Skyrim/Data, just create it and put the ini file in there. If you're using Mod Organizer, the procedure is a bit different, IIRC. I used a guide I found online.
Moksha8088
It is easier just to run Sherson's memory fix and leave SKSE 1.7.1 unaltered.
richardrahl853
ok I went ahead and made the SKSE folder in data and saved a notepad file with the lines you had from general down to scrapheap as skse.ini. how would I test or verify that this is now working properly. in gophers video he uses memory block log, but that would only work if I actually pushed the memory all the way up to 512 or at least above 256. is there any way to verify its working without using memory blocks log and stress testing it by loading in mass amounts of npcs? camaro_69_327
read the log file>>>skse_steam_loader.log, located here>>E:\Users\Dark\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE bottom of the log will have the Memory info, if set up correctly.

Roguespear
I have used IE since it first came out and have not had any of those problems. My experience with Chrome is, if you have a laptop it will drain your battery (google has known about this for over 3 years and lately said they might get around to fixing it one of these days) and it messes with your security settings, I call it rusted Chrome. I have noticed that Nexus has little glitches and once in a while you have to refresh the page before pasting. What version of windows are you using may I ask.
