Will this laptop be able to play Skyrim?

Like I said in my other thread, I need to get a laptop and have a very tight budget. The only mods i will be running are armor and weapons mods plus i will be using some mods that help me run the game on medium/lower settings and if i can maybe mods like the Pines of Whiterun.

I play it on the ps3 so graphics aren't a huge concern lol

It has very weak cpu. Any mods adding objects or more detailed meshes might lag it (if it will manage to run smoothly vanilla at all). I don't see any info about gpu. Looks like average laptop for typing and watching movies. I would rather save money and try to get something better at later date.

 

Edit: I don't see any decent models on Walmart page. Try Xoticpc. I was very happy with custom laptop I have ordered from them few years back. I like MSI brand for their cooling solutions and stability. If you can live with higher temperatures go with cheaper Asus laptop, that can deliver good performance.

You will need atleast 4gb of ram, preferably 3gb for Skyrim +2gb for system. Check if your model has empty ram slot for future upgrades. Some companies when offering 4gb or more install 2x2gb taking all space. In that case you would have to pick custom ram option on xoticpc. However if in future you use 2 ram sticks from different packages there is small probality they won't work.

That processor has the HD4400 mobile graphics & people have run vanilla Skyrim @ 30 to 40 fps on an i3 with the HD4000 graphics.

I would be more worried about scrypt latency spikes later in the game then fps. Skyrim is notorious for not managing well cpu's resources. I have tried to run slightly moded game on quad core 2.7ghz HD4000 with nvidia gpu turned off and was not impressed.
