Crash at Startup

I just finished the game with a few mods. Then I install a few of the bigger mods and many smaller ones and get a crash at startup.

 

I tried

1. unchecking all mods except fallom 3 esm

2. deleting fallout 3.ini

3. starting with fomm

4. starting with fose

5. Switch back from a edited fallout 3.exe for the ram boost app

6. I using a merged patch

7. Not using a merged patch

 

System

win7 64bit

4 gigs ram

core 2 duo cpu

8800gt

The odd thing being it worked fine before installing the extra mods but still wont work after unchecking the mods in fomm. I guess I need to know is what kind of mod can cause a CTD at startup without being active? Right now I'm just trying to get the basic game running without dlc or mods. I figure I'll reinstall them a few at a time to figure out the problem.

 

I haven't tried reinstalling from a backup of a my data folder yet.

FOSE can't work with the exe changing ram boost mod.

I actually finished the game with all DLC using ram boost and FOSE. I definitely works without major issue. Only problem I had was I could not launch the game from steam but that is pretty minor.

 

I'll post my load order when I get home from work. I would have posted it before but couldn't figure where the list was located.

I got it working again. I used fomm to uninstall the new mods I installed and have narrowed the problem down to either MMM, FWE, FOIP, WMK, DarnifiedUI or some combination of these. I used the video walk through guide to install these. I don't think I made a mistake but who knows. I'll try doing just MMM. If that works I'll add FWE and FOIP. Then if that works I'll add WMK with FOIP. And the last thing I'll do is Darnifed. I'll try Fallout after I install each new thing to pinpoint the problem.

 

Note Fomm greatest thing every. I'm also going to make a back up of my current data folderr so I don't run the risk of having to start completely over.

Praise the lord I got this thing to work. Like I said before I uninstalled the new mods and reinstalled them one at a time or with FOIP patches until I got the crash again. It appears that the FWE DarnUI patch is what was causing the crash. This patch is suppose to give you extra options or let you use FWE with DarNifiedUI.

 

Playing with all these mods does change the game a lot.
