Ouija boards.

So, finally a thread about the infamous 'portal to the demon homeworld.'

One of my friends recently expressed interest in playing around with an ouija board. Now, I'm no longer one to believe in things like it opening portals to hell and whatnot, but I do believe that your psyche can play a powerful role, the mind being the powerful thing it is. Not that I believe you're going to summon a powerful demon using your mind either. :P I do, however, think all these 'hauntings' people experience after dabbling in 'evil' stuff is mere tricks that your mind can play on you.

A quick google search shows a number of 'guidelines' that you should follow while using a ouija board, like never inviting anything to prove its existance, quitting the moment you start feeling uncomfortable, etc etc. I reckon if I do play this game, it might be useful to follow these guidelines, as you can never be too sure.

Has any of you guys ever played around with an ouija board, and what was it like? I'd actually rather like if at least something happens, though not so much if somebody just moves the pointer subtly with their fingers. It would kinda defy the point if the pointer wouldn't move at all.

If my friend and I do play this, and I don't return to the forum you'll all know what happened. :P

ok allow me to start by saying that I am a witch

and i am a man.

no, witches dont have to be girls or satanic, but some witchcraft IS satanic.

I myself do tarot readings and will learn palm readings soon. THOSE are not evil, and do not invite evil sprits into your home. Tarot cards are simply a gateway for your own power.

Ouija boards on the other hand invite evil spirits into your home to "Tell you the future" these may be seen as board games, but are really a satanic tool.

I disagree - all it does is open your mind up to communicate with various spirits. When dealing with the occult, you get what you "ask" for - if you think you are going to be beset by evil spirits, you will. If you purge tat thought from your mind, you will not encounter anything "bad".

At last, that has been my experience (and I have been at this for a while now)

Imo Ouija boards aren't inherently evil but I don't see it as a game or a toy either,to me it's a means of communication, so I'd say use it wisely if you choose to use it at all or you could end up finding trouble.

yes I do own one but I haven't used it in years

How do those doodads work anyways? I've never seen one in person.

Just my own opinion on the things: If it's mass-built in China by a company like Hasbro, I doubt it's haunted or anything.

It's a flat piece of wood with letters and words on it, and the only movement comes from psychomotor effect. All this 'evil' and 'magic spiritual power' are in your head.

It's a fun game to play during sleepovers, but you're hardly going to wind up possessed.

Nah, your hands move the little pointer in response to subconcious impulses; and you, being either gullible or stoned out of your gourd, assume it's a sign from Rielziplex, Daemon Prince of Tzeentch.

Or something.

Wow, that sounds like even less fun! Might as well go play with sandpaper. I'd love to try one of those things, though. Just to scare nearby Christians. Heheh, I imagine using one and just spelling out "KILL THEM ALL KILL THEM ALL" to freak people out.
