SkyFloral
I've been trying to use the Nexus Mod Manager for Morrowind, but this message keeps on popping up everytime i try to use it for Morrowind. You are missing D:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files\Data Files\Morrowind.esm. Please verify your game install and ensure D:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files\Data Files\Morrowind.esm is present. Has anybody else had this problem before? If so, how do you fix this issue, because any help would be gladly appreciated!
Dragon32
Afraid I don't use it and as it's not recommended for Oblivion I'd say that you'll have trouble using it for Morrowind mods. Have you tried asking in this forum: Nexus Mod Manager - Open BETA > Open Beta Feedback. Seems the most likely place to get help.
Deleted11834868User
I ran them as an administrator (them being first Morrowind, then NMM) after verifying the game was indeed installed in the correct place, and it seemed to work. If you're on Steam, make sure it's in your Program Files (86) and not just Program Files. A word of caution though, from someone who went from modding Skyrim like crazy:NMM is not ideal for Morrowind I have found. Many of the mods, even sometimes simple texture replacers, don't get placed properly. There's also frequently optional or even required sub-folders in Morrowind mods after download that need to be accessed and manually placed. Coming from someone who is super lazy and won't use Mod Organizer simply because I can't be bothered with the learning curve, installing Morrowind mods manually really isn't confusing or tough. 9/10 times it's just copy and paste, with a splash of extra care thrown in, it's super easy! But of course it's just from personal experience. Continue with NMM if it works for you and you want to  Edited November 11, 2014 by Guest
Dragon32
I'd just add to what Ulfjack's said: don;t install Morrowind into Program Files on any version of Windows after Vista. Vista added UAC and folder virtualisation. Modern games will, for example, store their save games and config files in the "My Games" folder or in Program Data. The files associated with programs installed into Program Files are protected by Windows so, with Morrowind, you can find that changes to your morrowind.ini (like which mods should be enabled) don't happen.
