SpacemanSpIiff
Good Evening, I am having some issues getting SKSE to load my vanilla copy of skyrim I have downloaded off steam. Normally I am very capable of trouble shooting and fixing things myself but, after removing every single mod past the games official DLC, re-installing and re-verifying the game numerous times...SKSE refuses to load the game. Things I've done. Bear in mind I've been modding successfully since Oblivions release, This is by no means my first rodeo. 1.) Moved my entire steam installation out of Programfiles(x86) and into C:/games/Steam.2.)Deactivated every mod except for official DLC's using NMM. mod esp's are not present in load order.3.) Completely deleted skyrim's folder in both my documents and in the steam folder for fresh re-install.4.)Reinstalled SKSE numerous times, correctly. Skyrim by itself launches fine, SKSE refuses to load. Attached are some SKSE log files I can't make sense of. camaro_69_327
Just checking a few things..... After deleting the Folder in MY docs...and Re installing...Did you Start the game Once with the regular Launcher ?, This will generate the INI files AND renderinfo.txt. Did you Copy /paste Skyrim to the new location, or Move Steam by Reinstalling Steam and the game? The First LOG (skse.log) stops Abruptly , the next line in MY log SKSE loads Translation Strings from various mods sample below.. dispatch message (6) to plugin listeners no listeners registered Reading translations from Interface\Translations\Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main_ENGLISH.txt... Reading translations from Interface\Translations\mintylightningmod_ENGLISH.txt... Reading translations from Interface\Translations\UnreadBooksGlow_ENGLISH.txt... ......... The other 2 logs read the same as mine do ....good job on getting the SKSE.ini correct (that's listed in the SKSE_steam_loader.log). Just an FYI...another folder Steam/Skyrim hides files in is >>>>C:\Users\Dark\AppData\Local\Skyrim This may be a question for the SKSE team at the Official Bethesda forums,, as they would probably know right away whats up..? They don't bite...lol Edited October 22, 2014 by camaro_69_327
SpacemanSpIiff
I did make sure to start the game with the normal launcher after the move and let it re detect the settings for my system yes. I'll check on the folder in Appdata/local/skyrim and see what I can do. Other help is more than appreciated.

AureliaGreenwood
I am encountering the same problem after my recent reinstall.... Skyrim is loading fine on its own, but when I use the SKSE loader it freezes on the startup menu. Let me know if you find a fix.
SpacemanSpIiff
Aurelia, did you find a solution yet? The SKSE team on Besthesda forums has yet to respond to me.
SpacemanSpIiff
UPDATE:I had apparently been subscribed to an old mod from long ago (Armorless dragonpriest masks) on the steam workshop. Unsubcribing from this mod got SKSE to launch just fine. Aurelia, check your subscribed mods on the workshop and see if unsubbing from them (if any) helps. AureliaGreenwood
Thanks Sakura, My problem has been solved as well. I play skyrim through a Wine wrapper, and there was a conflict with the version of Wineskin I was running and the most recent steam update. Updating to Wineskin engine version 7.29 solved the issue.
