dspiral
Hi this might seem a stupid question but i just want to know if i complete the main quest how will this affect my game, will all other quests such as guild, miscellanious quests be unaffected by this? Povuholo
As Fitzey said, it won't. There is no quest line preventing you from doing another one, or changes it. Hurray! :)
Malchik
I think in fact there may be two exceptions. The main quest only requires you to close two Oblivion gates (you have opportunity to close many more). As the gates get repetitive and dull fairly quickly several posters have said they just do the two. Surely this must prevent you doing the Knights of the Thorn quest out of Cheydinhal? And might it not also affect the Mysticism Master trainer quest too? But these are exceptions .

Malchik
Does the Cheydinhal gate stay open after the main quest is completed or is it a special gate?
Bored Scotsman
The Knights of The Thorn Quest is effected by finishing the Main Quest. Farwil, Senyan, and a third knight that you never meet if you do the quest, are just deposited outside the closed gate, but you don't get the reward from the count. The Master Training Quest for Mysticism isn't effected either. You actually have to close three Oblivion Gates in the Main Quest. The one at Kvatch, the Bruma Gate, and the Great Gate that's also at Bruma.

(Im just doing that and it REALLY pisses me off)
Switch
Nope. As he says, you only absolutely *have* to close 3 gates, which can save on a lot of time and boredom. ^^
cactoblasta
If you don't though the second to last quest will be slightly trickier because you won't have as big a posse. It all depends on your combat skills really. If you can slaughter powerful enemies with ease don't bother. Otherwise you might want to close a few city gates to get some extra manpower.
