Strange and missing textures

Hi, I have installed various cosmetic changes to my DAO game. Some of them are JBT, 4Aces, and Dragon age redesigned (newest version). Ingame, some characters have very slimy looking skin textures, there eyes are clear, and Morrigans hair is missing altogether. I have also installed natural bodies all in one, using the DAmodder program.

Can any1 suggest what I am missing, need to do to fix this? Cheers.

Well there are two problems here. First is the slimy skin and it's an easy fix. JBTextures is your enemy here and all you need to do is remove the armour and clothing textures from the JBTextures install location. If there are body textures then remove them too as NBAIO has much better HD textures for the body.

The missing Morrigan's hair is a chargen issue. Your Chargenmorph.XML has had Morrigan's hair overwritten by another entry or had a different Chargenmorph take control. I highly recommend using the Chargen Compendium Override that's comes with DA Mod Manager as it contains all the most common eyes, hair's, etc., in a user friendly package. Remove all the other cosmetic addons (hair/eyes/tat's, not JBT) and install DA Mod Manager and that will solve that minor issue ;)

I have no idea what the JBT amrmour/clothing textures are.

If I remove them does this mean all the armour in the game will go back to normal quality detail?

The naming system is pretty easy to work out.

Anything with a pn/pm/pf/hf/hm/ef/em/df/dm/qm at the beginning is to do with the characters.

That plus _arm is armour (e.g. pn_arm_bdaa_xxx.dds is the Blood Dragon Armour. xxx denotes many different types).

If you do a search for pn_arm (in Vista or Win 7 this will be far more effective than XP) you will see all files starting with that prefix. That way you can remove them and the game will default back to the originals.

Do that for all prefix types and it clears up pretty quickly. MAKE SURE YOU DO IT IN THE JBTextures folder otherwise you could delete files that are perfectly fine.

As for the Chargenmorph Compiler it's very good, but the biggest problem is getting them all to work nicely with each other. Best way is to use the Chargen Compendium with DA Mod Manager and learn how to add to the chargenmorph.xml by hand. At least then you don't end up with messed up hairdo's all the time ;)
