Help With Over-encumbering

can someone help me get a cheat or somtin i always hold to much stuff that i want and have to drop it help360 version

Three things you can do:

1) Buy a house. Keep all your extra junk in the house and carry only what you need. Use your head and figure out what you need to carry on the road or on a quest.

Don't go crazy with the loot. Look at its gold value versus its weight. Rusty Iron war axes are crap for the weight they bear against the gold value they give up at sale. Don't pick them up. Save your space for the stuff that's higher quality yet lighter. Arrows are a great 'cash clip' for the youngest of characters: they sell for 1 gold piece and weigh only 0.1 in weight. 10:1 gold-to-weight ratio is pretty decent early on. As you progress in the game, look for better gold-to-weight ratios.

2) Learn and use Feather spells. This belongs to the magic school of Alteration. If Alteration isn't one of your Major skills, then buy a cheap Alteration spell (like Protect) and cast it upon yourself a few dozen times until your Alteration skill level reaches 25. Then buy and cast a Feather spell whenever you need to haul gear.

Later on, if you pursue the Mages' Guild storyline, you will have the ability to enchant your armor and clothing with Feather to greatly increase your carrying capacity. Sigil stones that you loot from Daedric Oblivion Gates sometimes come with a Feather enchantment.

3) Master your favorite armor class (Heavy or Light). With Light Armor, you need only gain the Expert rank in order to remove its weight from your inventory. A Heavy Armor user will have to become a Master (though you do lose half of the current weight when you attain Expert level).

Then again, if you're becoming overencumbered while wearing Light Armor (it is called "light" for a reason) then you're pretty much boned in any case.

tom:

you can do as Rhydderch Hael recommends.

If you have already done like he wrote and still have an item you urge to have,

you can also carry it with a little trick.

You can pick up any carryable item using the Y key (Z key with english keyboard layout). This will not store the item

in yout inventory an will not encumber you. Keep pressing the key and walk with

that desirable item hovering in front of you.

If you come to a door, stop right in front of the door, put the item in vour inventory.

Now, you become over-encumbered. If you stand close enough, you will be able to open the door

and be "teleported" to the other side.

Then, remove the item from your inventory, grab it again using the Y (Z) key

and repeat the above steps until you´re home or at a merchant so sell the item.

I´m not sure if you can fast travel while being over-encumbered (haven´t tried it, yet)

or use a horse, so it might be a long journey until you´re at yout target.

Best regards

You cannot fast-travel when overencumbered (and, if you ever wondered, neither can you fast travel in the middle of a jump— an amusing little message warns you against it).

However, you can fast-travel while under the influence of a Feather potion or spell. Say you had one Weak Potion of Feather to do it. If you drank that potion and tried fast-travel from Anvil to Cheydinhal, you will end up in Cheydinhal— not stranded on the Gold Road a few paces from the Anvil gate as real-world logic would have dictated.

If your alchemy is at all decent (25 or higher), you can make feather potions fairly easily. (Flax and Sweetcakes both have Feather within their first two effects I think and are easy to obtain).

Thats why i like the pc version. I made a spell with two characteristics in it: Feather and Strength, I maxed out on the lvl according to my characters stats. I think you can create feather spells (perhaps 5-6 with varying lvl degrees) and they will stack, so theres a potential unlimited carrying capability as long as you have the mana to cast it (Don't overlook strength spells under restoration).

organize and store my friend. its what i do all the time. find a place (house or something) where u can safely store all your items. now; organize your stuff. like this

You only need 1 melee weapon

you only need 1 ranged weapon (including a staff)

(you only need about 25 arrows unless your a hardcore archer)

you only need 1 pair of gauntlets

you only need 1 chest armor piece

you only need 1 pair of boots

you only need 1 helmet

you only need 1 pair of leggings

as for the other items; most of those things weigh equal to or less than 5 pounds

and if your character encumbered when only carrying this stuff; you definitly need to think about using light armor and prioritizing lol
