Mostly it was just the looting of my chest.

Can't you just "bury" your chest and whenever you need to access it, remove the flooring to reveal it?

I guess it would work...unless the other guy is using a glass texture replacer pack...then they can see through the flooring. hehehe.

Not so much actually. If there is no airspace, they won't see any of the faces of the box since none of them are exposed to air. It's the same way as it won't allow you to detect where buried ore is unless it's bordering some hollow area.

Might I suggest a white list for whoever runs the server? I build on another smp server that relies on it to block out untrustworthy people, since you really can't tell who griefs your buildings.

I'm not the Admin, but we are having a Moderators "meeting" soon, and James has asked me and Sara to come up with new rules and guidelines. I'll bring this up.

About the griefing, when was it done? What happened? ( was my house destroyed?). Was the person banned?

No the person wasnt banned because when I was online there were 3 people who I never seen before on and I didn't know which one it was, it could have been someone completely unrelated to them too. So really... I don't know

I've slightly "griefproofed" my home to the best I can, hopefully it won't be touched.

 

It happened the other day, I went off to sleep, come on in the morning and I was griefed to hell...

I went on the server for a couple of minutes. We seem to have changed map again. After the Halloween update, we're resetting the server completely. We'll probably get a whitelist going then.

KDS's glass house was smashed up, Sara's got holes punched in it, mine got looted (8 bloody diamonds...). Damage is repaired though.

 

I think I know who did it, but the evidence is circumstantial at best. I found many of my items that were inside the looted chest inside a dungeon area made by Digslol, a newcomer. Not sure if it's worth banning though; the world's going to have a critical existence failure come Halloween anyways.

 

James' solution for it was to find a new place in the world to build that requires a warp code to find or you'll never reach it; about 10 minutes of walking from the spawn. It's worked well.
