katashy
I doubt you could get a signal on the tower. I suggest getting more TNT, then making a line of it away from the bulk of the other TNT. Place the TNT with a gap in between to maximise the length. Then create your redstone circuit. Using the line of TNT allows you to get up to the top of mountains. There, that's how I would do it. ub3rman123
Hmm.. Well, I guess there won't be enough left of the world to try saving my fortress after an explosion of that magnitude anyways.. (I tried some experimenting with just a few blocks, and it destroyed a mountain itself) I'll just line some explosives up the side of the mountain then. Edit: This mountain is rigged to explode!http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb3.jpg?t=1281578389You can see the minefield, the line of explosives (Hope they don't nuke my place up too much), and the final 14 pieces of reddust. As well as the kill switch. Woo! I'll set this baby off tomorrow after I make a few copies of the save to savor the moment. You can also see my initial tests (Most of the blast was underground, though some of it did blow open a hole into my bunker under the mountain, as well as the line of wood I was testing for use as a fuse. Hint, this cave here wasn't there when the level was generated.http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb4.jpg?t=1281578733 'nother edit.. I had to. I blew that sucker up. It's not a very big one. Next step: MORE EXPLOSIVES!
TheTerminator2004
Just so you know, redstone torches are used to power circuits. So, just stick more redstone torches along the fuse to extend the power. You could also try building a cannon (search the minecraft forums for explanations), to shoot a block of TNT at your minefield, which will explode at just the right moment to detonate the mines. ub3rman123
Well, too late for that now, I was rigging up the whole mountain to go boom, and accidentally left-clicked when setting them down rather than right. I'll put up some pictures of the decimation later. Edit: Some pics in the spoiler. Sorry about how it's all covered in water, but apparently TNT can't blow up water tiles. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb13.jpg?t=1281610554http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb9.jpg?t=1281610555http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb10.jpg?t=1281610555http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb11.jpg?t=1281610555http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb12.jpg?t=1281610557http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb8.jpg?t=1281610557http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb7.jpg?t=1281610558http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb6.jpg?t=1281610558http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/Bomb5.jpg?t=1281610560 Yes that is the same mountain and such with the pretty glass windows. katashy
Nice. It's not as deep as the one I made, but it's a larger area. Oh, and are you using a TF2 engie skin or something?
ub3rman123
I think so. I need to get more explosives and take out the rest of that waterfall and pit.
Pyrosocial
That was awsome! it took out you whole tower? (quick question, how do i use the map veiwer(?), to where you can see the whole map?
katashy
Download Cartographer if you haven't already: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=13134 Then, extract it and run the program. Select your world, the view you want and any other options. Then press render. It will create your map. The map will appear in your cartographer folder. It's a very good piece of kit. Here's a few of my maps: http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab322/katashy/map5-oblique-day.pnghttp://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab322/katashy/map5-obliqueangle-day.pnghttp://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab322/katashy/map1-normal-day.png
Vagrant0
I'm working on a snow map now that the one I was using started having problems. I started out with a small dirt and wood building, but am about to start moving into a stone one I recently put up. The place where I'm situated has some fairly deep and hostile caves on two sides of it, so although I'm not having much activity at night, the caves make it difficult to get started with any significant mining efforts without getting mobbed to death. There does however seem to be two lava sources near the surface that I'll probably collect and use at some point, either as a source of light, or a means of defense, or maybe both.
