Ah hello, just brought Fallout 3 and Starcraft 2 today (is good day) and just asking to see if i have set my game up right.

My wish is to play Fallout 3 with the Fallout Wanderer's Edition and Mart's Mutants Mod, is seems to be working but just want to clarify if i have done this right because can be deceptive and i do not want him crashing on me 400 hours later.

What i Installed:

Fallout Mod Manager

FOSE

Archive\Unarchive thing

1) I used Mod Manager to create a package for FWE and activated

2) I used Mod Manager to create a package for MMM and when prompted if i wanted to overwrite files i chose "no to all"

3) I extracted the FOIP compatibility package for FWE and MMM and activated it through the Mod Manager

4) Followed the FOIP load order suggestions and re-arranged the various files

Is all seem to be working, i saw some big mole rat and some baby sized so MMM seems to be working, FWE is also working as far as i can see, the alternate introduction worked (and is very creative). Hopefully is all good but i ask because mod documentation did not mention anything about Mod Manager trying to overwrite files, is i done this right?

You should always answer Yes to FOMM overwriting files - this is when it's copying new textures, meshes, etc to your FO3 directory and to get the right texture/mesh for the mod it needs to replace some of the original ones.. If you don't allow it to you'll probably end up seeing a lot of red triangles with white exclamation points later in the game.

If your paranoid - backup your FO3 installation before installing a mod - although if you use FOMM you should be safe.

In simplistic terms - texture / mesh are the graphic files for items like bodies, clothes, etc - if they don't exist the game engine doesn't know how to draw an item (hence the red triangle and exclamation mark)
