yk0520
I've run into a problem after obtaining Charon's contract. After he was killed,I resurrected him with the console command. Now,if I attempt to talk to/trade with him,all he does is repeat the "Talk to Azrakuul" line. He also follows me into areas he normally shouldn't go into (the Pitt,Point Lookout) rather than be 'fired' and sent back to the 9th Circle. Other than that,he still follows at a distance and attacks anything hostile. Has anyone else run into this problem with our favorite zombie tank, and if so, is there a way to fix it
Fonger
reload previous save and make him essential game remembers and gets cranky when somebody dies.
yk0520
Unfortunately, the save from before he was killed was overwritten. I've tried disable/enable, also tried respawning Ahzrukhal (no luck, wouldn't even appear),removing and regaining the contract, and even reset the quest (I had paid for him instead of killing the other ghouls). Ended up just disabling Charon and removing him from the game. Any other suggestions?
Johssy
Then you're out of luck, the game seem to remember the deaths of companions and certain other npcs and upon resurrection they'll behave radically differently than before. And theres nothing you can do about it, its been hardwired into the savefile. Always remember backup saves. One to save progress, one for the day, one for the week, one for month. You can never be too careful.

I have savefiles on my external hard drive, just in case. I also have 2 of each of the ones mentioned above, just in case I butterfinger saving over one of them. Which I have done. On numerours occasions. I have lost weeks if not months of gameplays on several occasions, I have learnt my lesson. Backups! More backups! Then some more! Just in case. But we digress, OP, I hope you aren't too attached to Charon :/ You could always replicate his character in GECK or something? Just to get him along again. llamaRCA
Well, with companions, I'd say, that since you play on the PC this should never be a problem. You can make them essential. You can set them so in the console or get mods that do it for you. Charon sounds lost to you for this character, but you can get him in the next. I'm sorry about that. I can't/don't play without him and always have a lot of saves for emergencies because FO3 can be so tempermental; especially with mods running.
