dunmermaiden
I see for some folks that the upload problem is fixed, however not for me. The submit button thingy in the upload file page just won't reset, unglue work etc. when I point my curser over it I get a straight upward line and it won't click ( insert a swearing curser ) Although I see you have said you've resolved the problem, but unfortunately it doesn't fix the problem for me. Could a moderater please help me upload my file? I've sent a contact form but havn't heard anything back yet. I really like the site, totally depresses me when stuff like this happens. :(
Dark0ne
The upload button has javascript on it to make sure you only click the button once. Once you click it, it's disabled so you can't click it again. Either you're using a browser with javascript blocked, you're using a plugin/software that blocks javascript (like NoScript), or you need to refresh the page (CTRL+F5 refreshes the page and recaches it, just incase) so you can use the submit button again. The upload system has broken again, however, so once you do get the button working it won't actually upload your file right now. Hang tight. It's still not working, I tried doing the CTRL + F5 still hasn't rid the problem. I'm not aware of having any programs that block java script. Edit,Weirdly as in, I havn't touched the java script but it appears somehow something disabled my java script, have turned it to enable so I will go check and see if it will work for me now. edit 2: I don't know what I'm doing, changing the java script to enable hasn't done diddy scot, same with CTRL F5 still can't upload still can't press the submit problem. Can you walk me through getting it to work please? I need step by step instructions, i'm not a computer wizz I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to changing settings which is why I don't touch them. DarkeWolf
www.yahoo.com www.google.com or whichever search engine that you prefer.first try clearing your browser cache. see if maybe you've got a script or some other file from another site that is clogging up the works. getting rid of it may resolve the problem.just run a search for browser name clear cache and you should find instructions on how to, if you need them ;)Now I will mention that most browsers give you the option to clean out the cookies as well. Doing this will NOT do anything bad to your computer, but the next time you visit your usual sites, you'll need to log back in, since the cookie that tells them who you are, will be gone. Just need to reestablish your ID ;) for those settings in the browser itself- type in the name of the browser that you're using. If you're using internet explorer then type in internet explorer. Google Chrome, Firefox, etc. then type in java script settings.something like internet explorer javascript settings and then have it do the search. You'll find what you need ;)Also, if its internet explorer that you're using, it could be that there's settings in the advanced setup that is blocking you.for that its tools/internet options, then click on the advanced tab. Hope that this helps!
Dark0ne
Have you tried using a different browser from the one you're using? Try IE, Fire Fox or Google Chrome. If it works on another browser then it's your browser settings. I can't give you step by step instructions as I don't know what the issue is; it could be any number of things on your end. dunmermaiden
Tried using Google Chrome - didn't fix it and I've tried firefox which hasn't fixed it ether. I also have done a clear browser cache still no joy. Buddah is helping me as well which I'm very grateful for.I had the problem arise on internet explorer 8 no amount of CTRL F5 - ing did anything except refresh the page it was the same on the other browsers. I'm at a real loss as to how to fix my issue. I was able to upload without a problem until the upload problem started yesterday my time. I have no add on's to my browser except for what it came with as the default. Any help is greatly appreciated :)
DarkeWolf
My first thought would be that if all three browsers won't do it, then its something else that is on your system. (because I dont really think that you're viewing your web content thru a proxy server which isnt caching the content). (Unless of course you're using a school's network, or on a corporate net).I would say to check whatever internet securty you're using. Like firewall programs, Antivirus programs, anything that filters content on your browsers.Another thing I might recommend, is to look to see if you've got any spyware or malware on your system. Malwarebytes is a good one to use, as is spybot sd, and ad-aware from lavasoft.com are all good malware scanners for spyware.and housecall is a good free online virus scanning engine from trend micro. Tho to be honest, and no offense intended, if three different browsers are having the same issue, I think its probably something more that yu havent figured out in the settings. dunmermaiden
Ok I'm a idiot. Buddah fixed the problem which turned out to not be me browsers or java script or anything else other than my brain. I didn't think the little boxes on the upload file page had to be filled in.... For future reference, they do, soon as added words the submit button was clickable. Feel so relieved and such a idiot.
DarkeWolf
Hey, no worries, there's a few things that are right in front of my nose on here that I miss too. I do have to say tho, that I'm really sorry that you went thru all this headache, and it turned out to be something simple that was just overlooked. On the bright side tho, you learned a little bit about some of the things going on with your computer, and that's never a bad thing. Glad to hear that you got it sorted out. :)
