assassin no1
hi would it be cool to have realistic aging in oblivion, in time you get grey hair or even die from old timers or cancer, to add that extra realism. Also maybe a hospital mod or doctor in oblivion, its seems kind of unrealistic not to have a doctor around. death count in Cyrodil 1 thousand and rising from small fixable minor wounds. sad is'nt it. Peregrine
If you've been playing Oblivion long enough for your character to age significantly, you really have a problem with game addiction. Think about it, it would take at least 20 years for most of those characters to noticeably age... think how many hours of gameplay that represents. assassin no1
lol i dont play the game that much, its a good game and all but thats kind of over kill, they say it takes a good 200hours to actually finish averything in the game. I guess aging is one of them, it would be handy to have a age count mod to list your age some where in the hud menu.
Switch
As Peregrine says, it wouldn't be very practical to have aging. Usually, the only way to have aging in a game is to use a horribly unrealistic system like the one Fable uses where you can go from 18 to 65 in one day if you want to. Either that or speed up the passage of time to such a degree that a day lasts 1 minute. ^^;
dylandvillian
personally i think that if you aged in oblivion then the game would no longer be made by bethseda(because beth is known for the open-ended games not the close-ended copy cat games like fable) don't get me wrong i liked fable and all, I just think the morrowind and fable are in the same generation not oblivion and fable. anyways you can easily role play a god in the elderscrolls seires. but in fable like it was stated earlier you can go from 18 to 65 in one day and then beat the game watch the credits and play for years on the same 65 yearold player. I like the fact that in oblivion you don't age it makes it more like real life (by the time that the next game in the series is released there would not have been enough time to go by in real life for your character to have aged an amount that would be noticable in the game)this way, because who will be still playing oblivion in ten years? Probibilities are that i will not be and i will be enjoying the next in the tes series. live the life of a 18 year old for the next five years. but if you really want to then you can always learn the command to bring up the edit race menu and move the slider over one position every 365 game days.thats like once a month or twice a month or somthin like that, for me anyways. GBHis
Bringing up the aging menu after 365 days is far too fast...If you would like it, I could make a mod that "aged" you - you should be able to turn off/increase/decrease rate of aging in days?Interesting..? GBHis
OK. I'll give it a try when I get back home.I dislike bringing up the race menu. That looks like cheating and tempts people to change silly details, thus making their character more like themselves and less like the way the character should be.PS: I hate rings, so it'll be an amulet for a chance ~ the amulet of aging! Which models/icons would you like?
dylandvillian
I think that you should make it an expencive amulet copy of jeweled gold necklace would be cool(i don't no how to model so my suggestions are basic) fell free to make it with anyone that suits your taste. you should make ridiculessly expensive though (i made a home mod that adds a amulet to the game and i named it Nevar's Signet Jewel and what it does is makes your char. alot like your end of morrowind char. it's worth two million, the sky's the limit when it comes to roleplaying. wll anyways best withes. GBHis
Got this interesting idea yesterday. How about making it level-based? It makes sense that an experienced adventurer has grown old after years of adventuring? (And nasty incidents, monsters, caves.)That's the stuff that gives you grey hair on one single night. (Yeah, maybe the mod COULD give you grey hair on a night. Level 20?)
