Chests bugs and armor bugs in Morrowind

I just recently started playing Morrowind again. It's great and awesome but there are some issues that appeared.
First off the chests, I found some chests in the game and every time each of those were empty, I dunno if a mod can be the reason for such a bug so please help with any information ^^
second Problem is that some armor parts are completely blank white and shiny, this is strange imo so if you know anything about such bugs and their reasons pls help me :3

Models which're pure white is an indicator of missing textures. At a guess there's a mod you didn't install correctly, have a read of this thread: How to Install Morrowind Plug-ins.

 

For the empty chests thing, could a mod cause this? Of course one could, mods can change a lot of different aspects of the game. Which mod caused this is harder to determine.

 

I'd suggest downloading and running mlox to fix the load order of your installed mods. Also pay attention to the messages pane as that will give you information on mod conflicts or missing patches etc.

 

If that doesn't fix things then please post your mod list, ideally in load order which you can copy and paste from mlox or you can find it at the bottom of your morrowind.ini. As well as your mod list please also post the contents of your warnings.txt (in the same folder as morrowind.ini)

mlox is a great help, found some conflicts right away, great advice thx ^^
with the missing textures, if I'll find the issue it's great but if not it's okai)

Yeah, sort out those problems which mlox is warning you about.

 

These errors are harmless:

Everyone who uses Better Clothes gets then (there's a thread round here where one of its creators explains it).

 

However, in your warnings.txt there's no error about a missing texture for those trousers in your screenshot. I'd expect there to be one. It'd at least give a start as to what mod you haven't installed correctly.

 

It's possible that some of your mods use BSAs to hold their resources. Unlike in later games Morrowind needs to have BSAs explicitly registered in the [Archives] section of Morrowind.ini before the game will load them. If any of your mods came with BSAs check their readmes for instructions.

Yep. Look in Data Files, are there any BSAs not listed? Apart from morrowind.bsa as that's loaded automagically.

 

As I said though, start the game (don't press Yes To All) and run around until you get the missing texture error for those trousers. The error will be lodged in warnings.txt

As I understand it those just mean that the game's found multiple copies of the same texture (e.g. in BSAs and loose in Data Files)

 

I was hoping to see something like this:

That'd indicate what the missing texture actually is. Without that all I can suggest is re-installing your plugins from their archives. I'd start with the Better Clothes ones.
