I'm assuming you're in the UK? I can't help you with specific shopping (don't know any good shops there), but $800 US can yield a fairly nice machine for running Fallout 3/Oblivion and other similarly demanding titles (Mass Effect, Bioshock, Portal, Dragon Age, Neverwinter, etc). This is a bit dated, but still applicable, and the prices should be lower given the elapsed time, you can modify from there if you'd like. Alternately, take advantage of some BTS sale that Dell or HP is running, and drop in a better graphics adapter right out of the box (make sure you get something with a suitable power supply before you do this) - should also fit nicely within your budget. evilneko
Given I built my desktop.. er.. shoot, how long has it been now, I forgot... at least three years ago on a budget of ~$400 and have since only spent $100 on an upgraded video card and it plays all those games you listed (save Dragon Age, don't have that but I have no doubt it'd play it) I'd say the answer is a resounding yes. It played most of them with the old video card, too (again, don't have DA). I didn't get the Mass Effect games until after I'd already upgraded. Heck my laptop was only $600 and it plays Obli and Fallout 3. It'd probably play Mass Effect, but I never tried.
Vindekarr
Yeah, dont worry, you can get a plenty good machine for a song these days. My pc was about $1500 AUD and its able to eat crysis for breakfast. You should be able to get a LOT for your money, but I dont know the UK manufacturers very well-or import/export costs. My machine was built half an hour away from where I live and a good deal of the price was the total overkill I asked for on the motherboard, PSU, and cooling system. The motherboard and PSU added a total of $400 and the fees for the 24 hours stress test and overclocking added another $150 so with that removed, the rig's core parts with an ordinary non stupid triple crossfire motherboard and mega PSU would be about the budget you're looking at, and it was a great investment.
