Clothing issue: Robes

Sorry to ask such a stupid question...usually I get things pretty easily on my own. But this issue has got me stumped.

I was adding some armor, weapons, and clothing into my mod. Everything has gone well. All the armor and weapons work perfectly on NPC and myself. Shirts, and Skirts are just fine as well. But I have 3 robes, that only half work.

By half, I mean they work wonderfully on NPC characters. when I try to put them on, however, it is another matter entirely. The game freezes the minute I drop it on myself, does a bunch of clicking, and then shuts off.

I have checked, double checked, and triple checked, and everything is exactly as it should be. Is there something I am missing here that is preventing the robes from working on my character?

Here is an image of the NPC wearing one of the two robes, as well as its stuff, and the body part for the chest and ankles. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

+Dragon32 you are simply amazing!

When I opened this file, and looked at his files, I noticed the body part for the 1st person. This had to be named something completely different in the mod I got the robe from.

I also learned there is a title thing that has to be done as well, when naming the parts. If the body part for the robe is "_WI_Robe_Telvanni.nif", the 1st person title has to be done exactly the same, with a .1st (_WI_Robe_Telvanni.1st) I tried with a _1st, and it of course failed.

My sincerest of thanks for helping me figure this out. :D

Well I wouldn't say amazing... well actually I would but then the Forum here wouldn't be strong enough to contain my excessive ego

Glad you got it sorted out and, like I said, I'm no expert on these things but I figured checking out a simple mod which I know works (I've used that one of MP*Canus' in the past) may well help. Glad it proved to be the case.

Hope to see your mod round these parts soon

It is a large undertaking :D I can add a little map here, and maybe begin throwing progress screens as I do on the facebook for my website :D (Final Fantasy Kingdom (finalfantasykingdom.net))

It is called Western Ises, and has been going for almost a year.

About 1/3 - 1/2 of the flora is in place.

Cities are in their locations, though some are in process of redo.

Two cities have full interiors, and two misc. quests are completed.

The premise of the main story is:

Some time ago, several people from the 5 great houses still around, broke from Vvardenfell, and headed west. They were tired of the greed, politics, and corruption within their own houses. They decided to follow one Lady Mklem into a wonderful, prosperous place for everyone. Harmony was seen for the first time between the great houses, and it lasted for centuries.

But some time ago....a shadow of something began creeping into the isles. Confrontations in the houses began to rise, people began fighting over menial things. Mklem seemed to become less the caring person she was, and more a tyrant over the region.

The High Counselor for Mklem in Vailana heard of this prophetic person who comes to Vvardenfell. He now summons you to aid in finding out what is going on in the Western Isles, and bring peace to the lands once more.

Gosh, that's quite a landmass you've got going there  I knod of thought you were "just" creating some extra clothing. I didn't realise the scope of your work.

If you want feedback and help from other modders I'd really recommend signing up for the Bethesda Softworks forum. Here there's a much greater proportion of mod players to mod creators, at Bethsoft it's the other way around.
