karmagedon23
Hi there, I have recently done my first play through as a thief in the thieves guild. What a great quest line! The one thing that bothers me about them though is LOCATION! No the fact that they are in the bottom corner of the map, but the fact that they are ONLY in the bottom corner of the map. Through Vex and Delvin's requests you aim to return the guild to it's former glory blah blah blah. Yet after all this is said and done, I don't see why the thieves guild wouldn't have outposts in each city. No wonder they are failing, the only way to reach Solitude is to send a recruit from Riften, ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE MAP - with the chance of facing drauger, vampires, werewolves etc. The likelyhood of a recruit making this journey is neigh on nothing. However if the main guild boss sent his lackeys a new order via raven or crow that would make much more sense. In my opinion it would seem a better idea as a budding thief if you could visit the local guild headquarters in the shady part of each town and receive missions relevant to that hold, the success of each hold's outpost is then reflected in the development and improvement in the cistern. Is someone able to make this mod? Or has this never been done because of all the work required? Thanks for any responses
Boombro
But the TG is Skyrim is so old. If you read the book about that dunmer queen, it written in that she joined the TG in Riften.Riften is the best place because it the hold with the worst law upholds, has an already shady part that is ratway. If they went to any other hold, there asses will be handed over to the law. The jarl knows nothing, and their boss lives there and she has them on her palm. Even while ending the TG questline, you will see that they just started rebuilding things, maybe they have outposts, but lost them because they have fallen or discovered? The Thieves guild survives in Riften because they have it in good with Maven Black-Briar, but the guild doesn't need to operate directly in the city all the time. If the Guild got in good with the East Empire Trading Company like Golum-al did, they'd be able to hold up there, it already has a secret hideaway. add a few more tunnels that connect into the rest of Solitude and you have that done. Since Maven now owns the Honeybrew Meedery also, she could easily commission for a hide out inside that cave network under it. Markarth might be tricky because it is so cluttered, but you could find a way. Maybe set it up in a nearby Dwemer ruin or something? Remember, the point is that the Thieves guild has to send its members across Skyrim to do anything. But if they can have opperants a day away from the target, it's a lot better.
