SchmoSalt
Whenever I launch the Creation Kit it just freezes up on the "Initializing Windows..." prompt. When I check task manager I see that it is using a full core and is maxed out on memory for a 32-bit program. This is completely clean install of Creation Kit. I tried debugging with Visual Studio but the program doesn't actually throw any exceptions. It's just stuck in an infinite loop doing something. Has anyone seen this problem before? Does anyone know how to fix this? Edit: I ended up fixing it. Something in my game directory was causing the editor to crash. I installed Creation Kit on a separate drive and copied over the base esps and esms. Everything works now. HeyYou
How long are you letting it sit? Even on my quad core, with 4 gig of ram, it takes a couple minutes to start..... Also, is your anti-virus running in the background? That may annoy it too... Edited November 16, 2014 by HeyYou
SchmoSalt
I let it sit for 10 minutes. It was still in the same state. I have MSE running in the background. I don't really want to disable my AV just for Creation Kit though.
HeyYou
What else is running in the background? Something is causing it to hang......
SchmoSalt
Just a EVGA Mouse util, Radeon Pro, MySQL, and Steam. None of these things interfer with Skyrim itself or any of my other apps. Edit: I ended up fixing it. Something in my game directory was causing the editor to crash. I installed Creation Kit on a separate drive and copied over the base esps and esms. Everything works now. moofry
OK, I am having this issue now all the sudden. It just plain stopped working today and was fine up until now. Only Park Control and AV are running in bg and has never been an issue before. Please help! Edit: I left it for over 30 minutes with no progress.
