The Big Finale...

OK sorry if this counts as "thread necrophilia", but...

About all you need to get to Paradise: well it's like sneaking into somebody's house: if you can't get the key (ie the amulet of kings), you'll have to use lockpicks (ie the ritual)...

And rituals are a complicated thing...I just had a lesson yesterday on how the Vedic Indians (from 5th century BC India) did their rituals, and it involved complicated geometry to build the altar, and the building of the altar was part of the ritual...meaning: he does it that way because that's how it's done.Remember: this is not science, this has more to do with religion, and religion doesn't have to be logical.

About Mankar wearing the Amulet of Kings: There's a book in the game that tells a story about the Camoran Usurper, and at the end of the book, you learn that some Altmer woman has a baby from the Usurper, and that baby is called Mankar...If I remember correctly, the Camoran Usurper did have the imperial throne...so he should have had the Amulet too...meaning he could wear it (maybe he was from Alessia's bloodline), and thus his own son also can wear it...

About the chaos in the Empire: well there's no Versidue-Shae Potentate this time...but maybe Martin itself has an heir somewhere, I mean if he fooled with Daedra Princes before he was a priest of Akatosh, it stands to reason that he may have a son or daughter somewhere from fooling with women (I think Sanguyn would have liked that, don't you?...and this could provide a plot for TES V: something like find the heir and protect him from the rebelling nobles everywhere in the Empire: don't you think, let's say, Helseth would want the throne for himself?)

And finally, about Ocato:who did say he gave Ocato 2 months?Because I still haven't met Jauffre, and I've been out of prison for much more than 2 months: so there's no Emperor, and the Imperial Council seems to be doing his job pretty well: the Empire isn't à feu et à sang (ie washed in blood and fire)...

The Elder Council tended to the day-to-day administration of the Empire even when the Emperor was alive, so it'd stand to reason they could keep the ship on course for a little while after his death.

If anything, the Emperor provided long-term guidance and the voice of diplomacy, as well as that tiny little matter of keeping the barriers between Nirn and Oblivion intact.

As to TES V, the imperial dynasties that tend to form in this world come in the wake of great wars. Alessia's revolution, Reman's campaign against the Akaviri, and Tiber Septim's quests for unification. If a new dynasty is to be forged in the next game, it's going to come at the cost of much blood.

Why do you guys don't like the MQ? It has ENORMUES potieltal to create a fantastic continue of tha elderscrolls epic storyline. Yes you fails to save the empire, but as Martins spirit says: "I go gladly course i know my sacrifice was'nt at waste" or something like that. That leaves us with the question: What did his sacrifice actually start? We know what it ended: The oblivion invasion. But what will come now? Of that we have no idea!

 Man, have noone really noticed it yet? The real enemy wasn't Dagon, Daedra, Eddie Meduza, but a much, much, MUCH greater threat...

Mudcrabs....

And now that the Emperor is gone, they will have all the time in world (which they problably need  ) to counquer whole Tamriel!

A higher rank in the Blades would be nice, but you can't really become the emperor, as the Amulet of Kings can only be carried by those who are relatives of Septim. Such as Martin. Besides, what would you do, sit in throne room and listen to politicians all day long? :P

The Amulet of Kings is gone, no more. Martin destroyed it when he became the dragon. Also, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE OF SEPTIM BLOOD! In real life, one family did not always rule in ALL of the kingdoms, empires, etc. There were many dynasties, many families, many blood lines. The Septims are but one blood line. I gaurantee you, in TES V, there will be a different family ruling. All the territories will see this as an opportunity to gain power and will go to war to get it. There will be a large civil war, and Cyrodiil won't make it. There is no leader, and all their troops are spread out in the territories. The world is changing. Why do you think Martin was talking about the beginning of a new age in the cut scene after the final battle? The Septims are nothing but history now.

Any-hoo, knowing Bethesda, you would really only be Emporer in theory, I'm sure that if you were Emporer, the guards would still send you to jail :P . That's how it was in Morrowind. You became the Nereverine, savior of Morrowind, but the guards still arrested you for stealing a fork...What I'm trying to say is, if you were Emporer, there would be absolutely no difference what-so-ever from how the game is now.

Edit:

OK sorry if this counts as "thread necrophilia", but...

Wouldn't that be thread necromancy?

Necromancy: Magic involving the dead or death.

Necrophilia: pathological attraction to dead bodies.

But somehow, Martin doing his dragon thing and defeating Mehrunes protects from Oblivion, so the Dragonfires are no longer needed.

Either that, or Martin didn't think his cunning plan all the way through and vulked everyone over big time. Dagon might've been thrown back into Oblivion, but that doesn't mean Nirn is once again safe from Oblivion - in fact, seeing as how Sheogorath manages to form a stable portal to his realm within Cyrodiil itself in the Shivering Isles expansion, I'd bet that the Daedra Princes might have an open season on Tamriel now.
