Genzel Posted August 20, 2010 Share Posted August 20, 2010 Were you asked to locate your current Oblivion files? I think it is saying it could not find the old Oblivion files including the INI file. bben46 Posted August 20, 2010 Share Posted August 20, 2010 Moving Oblivion without reinstalling can confuse the registry which will think parts of it are still in the old locations, and then not cleaning out those registry entries can cause problems when you do reinstall. Its not a good idea to have any programs on the desktop as that can slow boot times by quite a bit. A shortcut on the desktop is fine though. The desktop folder gets special processing during startup. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice.
