Armageddon: Before the Rift

The wind intensified and Soyokaze suddenly began to tumble, looking as if she were doomed to fall into the sea, but unbeknownst to the crew, she was smiling. This was good, she'd won a significant victory in her battle against the wind. As she righted herself, curving her wingtips upward she soared gracefully back to her former altitude, it became clearly noticeable that the wind now was coming from a single direction. The intensity of it still threatened the ship, and was certainly pushing her to her doom, but the situation appeared...less hopeless now.

Soyokaze perched atop the main mast and stood, feet apart, arms and wings spread, facing into the wind. With her small, light body so vulnerably posed, she defied the wind to knock her down.

Leonardo watched in horror as his boat was destroyed, he suddenly became conscious of how easily he could die at the current time. He tried to keep himself still and not attract the attention of the sharks or whatever they were; because of this a particularly strong current easily picked up his motionless body and dragged him quickly in a new direction.

As he treaded water Leonardo relised something was coming, a massive boat was barreling towards him at an unnatural speed. "No boat could go that fast" he thought and relised they'd never see him in time. He made a quick decision and swarm furiously towards it, he swung an arm out and caught a little ornate nook in the ship. The moment he touched it Leonardo relised the boat wasn't going fast, the waters had been slowed down. Leonardo was to tired to comprehend what this meant and as he climbed up the hull and reached the deck he immediately fainted from exhaustion.

Takum put his hands into his pockets and chuckled. Seemingly unfazed by either the Dragon's size or it's sudden appearance. "That's what they all say." He muttered to himself. He then smirked and whispered into Waru's ear. "You'll notice he didn't deny the superiority complex." He strolled up closer to the dragon and half bowed. "First of all if you'll allow me to correct you.. Neither of us are human, Get your facts straight. And yes.. That kind of stuff does matter to me. Second of all. I would be.. somewhat relieved actually that there were other...Sentient life here on.. Armageddon? Did you say? Interesting. Normally that term would be related to an Apocalypse of some sort. Though.." He looked around his surroundings. "That does not seem to be the case here, Thankfully." He turned from the dragon and started to pace about. "Now Mister.. Shroud-sky.. heh. That's actually kinda funny for some reason." He snickered. "I have no idea why though... Hmm... No matter. You said that there were no settlements here on this island yes? Now would that mean that there are no Bipedal beings here or that they are primarily nomadic?" A barely noticeable look of contempt spread across Takums face. "Or is it that you and your kin destroyed them all?"

Nynlata chuckled as she raised her hands to the sky, the lightning its usual beast, no matter in what realm it hates to be controlled and taken ahold of, the usual sensation of static building up in the air around her intencified with each redirected strike. Nynlata's smile broadned to a grin as one strike in perticular made its way to the mast instead of the concintrated area. With a quick motion of her arms and continous incantation Nynlata managed to direct it back up into the sky, the strike missing Soyo by barely a few metres. Nynlata was cautious of anyone coming close to her and decided to make a point of voicing a warning. "I'd suggest none of you get too close to me, Touch me and we'd both get fried to a crisp. First signs of impending death may include hair standing up on end, shocking anything you touch, and of course sparks." As she said that she redirected another, strike, this time it built up enough static around her to send small sparks shimmering down her arms.

Waru tipped her head, "As i do, nature is to be as respected as it is fered in some circles. Just as the elements and their might is to be revered." to some it might of seemed that she was making a direct reference to herself, but in her mind she did not mean it in the slightest. Waru chuckled slightly at Takum's ramblings on. As he stayed quiet for a short moment Waru couldn't help but verbally add to her growing list of charasteristics for the man, "Careful Takum, open your mouth any wider and you are sure to put your foot in it.

"Well small, incompetent blather-mouth, this realm is the apocolypse it reflects the extremities of all other realms and imaginations, at the end of all the realms shall crash together and everyone shall be thrown scattered across this realm and the battle shall begin anew, the last standing on each isle becomes the Pathaura of said isle and the whole damned thing starts all over again, it gets boring after the fourth time though really." Shroud-Sky said with obvious contempt for the know-it-all humanoid in front of him, "And the humanoids that are left on this land are nomadic, you might find one complex where the Rangers of Eleria are but that's hardly a settlement. The other humanoids might not be hostile to you but be wary of the Drakkar, they are far more powerful than any humanoids you've come across and agitating one of them to the point of violence is far easier, albeit a slightly less dangerous, thing than agitating one of my kin." The great dragon yawned stretching out his wings, which for the first time showed that he definitely had no scales, where as before it could have been left to some doubt.

The bosson scuttled up to Sifo, "Great Idea!" He laughed with a great roar and hurled the young man over board into the great rolling brine hollaring after him, "Get yer ass back on board when ye realize that even if'n yer not part o' the crew ye best pull yer weight in a storm or a fight!" some of the crew laughed uproariously at this but it was cut short-

"MAN OVERBOARD!" A tall Drakkar hollared from the Crow's Nest.

"We know ye idjit!" Yelled back the Bosson.

"No, not 'im off the starboardt bow, he's clingin to some o' the moldin' I think 'e passed out once 'e got 'old!"

"What?!" The bosson ran over to the side of the ship and looked down, spying Leonardo. The bossun used his four powerful legs to launch himself into the sea, he swam along side the ship and gripped onto her hull then threw Leonardo's unconcious form over his shoulder and climbed back aboard using his claws and feet.

In the middle of all this the helmsman called out to the captain, "The wind's at our back cap'n!"

"Hahaarr! We gotter now boys! Row this ship! Step lively now, we're almost home free Maties!" He hollared to much jubilation amongst the crew. The distant land form was now only a few leagues away, they'd reach it in just an hour, proabably faster if the wind stayed as fine as it was.

The avariel closed her eyes and smiled. The wind was finally under her control. She'd taught it to respect mortal men. She drew down her arms, lifting a hand to run her fingers through her drenched hair as the tamed wind caressed her, as if in apology. Her task complete, she leapt off the mast and soared again on the winds, circling the great ship a few times before lighting on the deck. She quickly found a bench and sat down.

"The wind is mine. I will need to rest for a while. And to dry off." She managed a chuckle and laid back on the bench, resting.

Leonardo awoke in a hammock, a bowl of something had been left nearby which he ate ravenously, he hadn't eaten in days yet the food had been filling enough to satisfy him for a while. Evidently the weather outside had calmed down and the gentle rocking of the boat propelled him back into a heavy sleep.
