hackwalker
Im rly into sneaking, assassin stuff, bows is fun but it seems i cant use 2 daggers or any duel weapons which makes me think, why do i need daggers in that game? i mean why use a dagger w a shield if i can use a short sword w a shield? is there any reasons why i should use a dagger and why it makes life easier? ub3rman123
Well, the extra speed allows you to pull off enchantments faster. So instead of causing your 20 fire damage every 1.4 seconds, you'd be able to do it every .8 seconds. They also allow for faster staggering. Other than that, not really, the difference is too small to see.
David Brasher
In my opinion, daggers are there for role-playing. They go with certain character classes. If you are a pure mage, you will not carry around a claymore,or a shield and longsword. Instead you rely on your intellect and your magic power. You are likely to carry a dagger or a magical staff for when you run out of magicka and the going gets tough. But you don't like to do things like that. Mages don't like blood and dirt and physical exertion. It is better to just cast spells and not have to deal with all that low common peasant stuff. Some thieves also like daggers. They generally avoid combat. They want to have plenty of gold and not work hard for it. They do not like pain and danger of injury. It is better to just be so clever and so sneaky that you don't have to use your weapons. Have you ever tried to pickpocket someone, sneak around in the shadows, or climb through a second story window with a claymore strapped to your back? Daggers are just better for thieves. ub3rman123
When I play rogueishly, I usually skip the shield. Since I don't enter open combat, it's better to keep the spot open for a torch or something rather than some extra defense I don't need.

Kaliprax
There is a dual weilding mod, but the second weapon counts as a shield, and you can only block with it... shame but they would have to make new animations for a proper dual-weilding mod. Type in "oblivion dual weilding mod" on google. Deadly reflexes is the mod you are talking about, the mod description will tell you how to do the stealth move. p.s. What is it with you and daggers? This is your 3rd (that i've seen) thread about daggers lol XD
BlackerrR
When you get into fight with magic, you can always 'prepare' your dagger so you can quickly put it in your in about .5 seconds if enemy comes to close. You can run reeealy run and attack faster. You don't need extreme enchantments to kill the opponent because it's fast. Nakuvamp
actually i believe while sneaking having a dagger out has little to no visibility when sneaking if you already aren't being seen by someone, where as a sword if it is drawn and you are sneaking you are more noticeable but i think in the higher levels of stealth you can carry a sword and not be noticed but at lower levels it is better to carry a dagger...and yes you can stealth kill with daggers similar to the bow its just generally harder to pull off because of the closer you are the more likely you are to be spotted and with a bow you can take them out from afar. Not to mention at least with me weight is very important because the more i can carry the more i can steal and a dagger weights a lot less than a full on sword or claymore.,As well as for mages, well most mages consecrate more on intellect and magic and little on physical strength and endurance relying on magic for protection and offence so they also generally can carry less than the average adventurer so maybe to hold a few more items they can carry a dagger since in most cases if a mage has to rely on a weapon hes probably already in trouble so its more of a last resort
