Less than honest merchants

Are there any other merchants, other than the Thieves' Guild, that will buy stolen goods? I know that the Dark Brotherhood does not (murderers, but not thieves, LOL).

There's Shady Sam. YOu can find him outside the IC. Just leave through the Talos Plaza gate, and head left behind the stables.

 

There's also the proprietor of the Inn of Ill Omen.

Yes, but I don't think either will buy armor. They only buy items, IIRC.

If you get your merchanting skills up high enough, they'll buy anything.

But the only 3 "thief" merchants are the Thieves' Guild, Shady Sam, and Inn of Ill Omens, right? So in order to sell stolen armor, I either need to enter the Thieves' Guild or keep transacting to get my merchanting skills up high enough, right?

Yep. I think it's at 50 you can sell anything to all merchants.

Really? I had no idea... So you can sell stolen items to anyone at level 50? :wallbash: A year of Oblivion and still not figured it out. I think this makes mercantile skill a little more valuable now... it's like a .2 instead of a .15 on a scale of 1 - 100

No, just different item types, like selling armor to an alchemical merchant. But that does sound like a fine mod affecting the persuasion skill...
