starkilleravgn
Hi everyone, so i have been watching a few fallout related videos on youtube recently and decidedthat i wanted to play fallout 3 again so i started up the game with all the old mods that i had and the game crashed everytime so i just figured that it would be best to start over from scratch so i reinstalled fallout completaly and started modding it without problem untill i got to adjustable hud. No mater what i try it crashes as soon as the game starts so i am asking for help figuring out why i cant use AHud anymore. Here is my load order so far if it helps. M48A5
Do you have FOSE installed? It is a required file for aHUD. The DarNifiedUIF3 is the one linked from the FWE page, isn't it? And, you downloaded and installed the DarNUI Support for FWE, right? Along with any and all hotfixes for DarNUI and FWE? You are missing a compatibility patch for FWE and MMM. Get it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18173/? READ the instructions for the proper patch. Edited December 1, 2014 by M48A5

Also, the current stable version of FOSE is 1.2 beta 2. When you did the reinstall, did you also reinstall the Fallout 3 1.7 update and the GFWL client? starkilleravgn
The patch i downloaded was the Fallout Interoperability Program - FOIP. Im not sure if thats the one you mean by wrong pach but that is what i put in because i was watching the video on gophers youtube to see if i could figure out the issue but still a no go. I shouldnt need GFWL anymore because i have the GOTY on steam that i got from the summer sale. i reinstalled the game around 12:00 am today so pretty recently. I deleted all fallout 3 folders before i reinstalled so there sould not be any residual info from my last install. I also downloaded FOSE is 1.2 beta 2 from http://fose.silverlock.org/ but when i go in game and type in getFOSEVersion in the console command it still says FOSE version 1. BlackRampage
when i go in game and type in getFOSEVersion in the console command it still says FOSE version 1. Getfoseversion always comes back as 1. In the main title menu, move your mouse to the little pipboy head in the bottom left corner of the screen. It should display the correct version when you move your mouse over it. And Gopher's youtube tutorials are ancient. As is FOIP. See this vid for a more up to date tutorial on how to install FWE, MMM and the appropriate patch for them:
M48A5
From the Bethesda Softworks Forum, regarding Steam and Games for Windows Live (emphasis mine): Games For Windows LiveThe game looks for Games For Windows Live at initial launch, it is not required to play the game once it has initialized. The Games for Windows Live that ships with FO3 is outdated and no longer works. Get the latest Games for Windows Marketplace Client from the link below and install it (if you bought the game from Steam, that version still requires it). That should fix you right up. starkilleravgn
Thank you everyone for your help i finally got the issue fix. The problem i was having is that my nexus mod manager was lumping all of the FWE mods together buy not telling me what part was what so i had been forgeting to install the FWE patch all together. That was the main issue but i wouldnt have figured it out without the video that was posted by BlackRampage. I knew that gopher's videos where on the older side but i didnt think the game had changed that much since then so thank you for the updated video. My game is running good now. I havent played the game in over 3 years so that is why i am so rusty at moding it again so really thank you everyone.
