FCOM... Annoys me.

So, I've been spending the last 17 hours trying to get FCOM 9.9 to work with my game. I can get it all to work, except for the fact that either People are missing their bodies, their weapons, or things like crates and boxes won't appear.

I've done everything needed several times over, and I'm still not getting it to work. I don't see how it doesn't want to display the meshes, I know I put them in there.

Soo.. Yeah. How can I get it working? I know I'm being vague, but I can't explain it too well.

EDIT: So, I went ahead and followed a different guide, everything installed correctly, but still I get the "No mesh" image all over the place. Are the files missing meshes? Is my load order wrong? I'm using BOSS to order it.

let's start with the obvious

are you using either Windows7 or Vista

AND

did you install the game to the default location?

Note if the answer to this AND is Yes, it is sufficient to cause this problem

solution, get the game outside of the jurisdiction of UAC - move the game!!

I'm using Vista. I've installed Oblivion to C:/Program Files (x86)/ Bethesda Softworks/ Oblivion. I wasn't aware I shouldn't be putting Oblivion in that directory.

And yes, I'm using Wyre Bash. I read about how I should use the bashed patch, 0 and select Repair Patch - then Select Option two, and leveled lists. Then it should create a bashed patch.

I'm using the following Files:

FCOM convergence 9.9

MMM373BSA + MMM_37b3_Public Release

OOO_133_Patch_OMOD Ready + OOO_134_Beta_5_Patch

Bobs_Armory_Oblivion1_1

Both of Fran's Installers

Oblivion WarCry EV + OWC_Patch_1.08b_1.085b

Are any of the above files wrong?

Also, if I decide to say screw it, will the individual pieces of the FCOM thing work fine? Like if I just want Bob's Armory and MMM?

Vista has increased security around the Program files folder, if you have User Account Control enabled you should install Oblivion outside the Program Files folder. (I installed mine to C:/Games/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion) Just anywhere outside the Program Files folder should do.

Thanks, I changed it to another location.

I slowly added the mods one at a time, and they're all fine, until I had OOO. So, if Fran, MMM and Bob work fine, I don't even see why I need FCOM. I'm pretty sure I can go without OOO.

If you want to install FCOM - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=guides_mod_installation&subpage=fcom_installation_guide

However, the mods you are using are compatible already. OOO and Fran are not. FCOM is basically OOO blown up, and I love OOO and FCOM. I started with the former and did not care to try FCOM until I had already been using OOO for a little over a year, probably.

Ohh, Okay.

Well, I'm enjoying MMM and Fran, So I think I'm good for the moment. I'll work on getting OOO later on. It's too much of a pain at the moment.

Thanks for the assistance~

Oh wait, if you said OOO and Fran didn't work together without FCOM, then wouldn't I be able to just install OOO instead of Just Fran? Cause the features in OOO seem like they'd be more appealing.

Also, can someone link me to the correct OOO files? I think the ones I have are incorrect. =/

Yes, you can run OOO and MMM without FCOM or Fran, but you will need to sort the load order with BOSS and use a bashed patch. You only need the 406.6Mb setup.exe file OR the 402.6Mb OMOD ready file. The 134 Beta is not required, but optional -- remember it's a BETA.
