lgs7
I was wondering is there any big diferences between 1080i and the standar composite on the xbox 360?Except resolution? And,it can be compared to a pc?
Vindekarr
You cant imagine the diference between 1080 HD and regular tv. The graphics are just... magnificent. Try a free trial of Colin Mcrae: DiRT 2 on 1080i HD, and compare it to how it looks on normal flatscreen digital, and see what you think. The diference is about a 80% improvement in colour quality, detail, and smoothness, in the HD's favour. Especialy in games optimised for HD, I was playing the new transformers game, War For Cybertron(and it's brilliant) and compared my new HD to my old LCD, and I honestly cant describe just how big a diference it is. It's not like "pc good graphics" it's more like watching a movie at the theatre rather than on an old CRT.

JimboUK
The Xbox (or PS3) doesn't come anywhere near a decent PC graphically, most games are upscaled from 720p (some from even lower) and the quality is much lower. It's six year old tech and it shows.
Thor.
The ps3 is more then capable of going 1080P, you haven't experienced the ps3 with a HDMI cable have you??, Games like Dead Space and Borderlands where all in 1080P and it Looked fantastic, its just the devs being a bit picky lately. Its no excuse for them to not optimize the games for the ps3, it still is a beast in my Opinion technical wise. JimboUK
My PS3 is connected to a 1080p TV via HDMI, so yes I have. Both Dead Space and Borderlands are rendered @ 1280x720 with no AA (same on the 360), they are then upscaled to 1080p. Memory: * 256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz* 256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700MHz and there is the reason along with a seriously dated GPU.
Thor.
Well Technical aside, it all comes down to the games that matter right. Like Gran turismo 5, its going to push it to the max. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxfNb4d3bPY rumours have it, its going to fill a 120gb blu ray  . Not to mention with a 10gb install :teehee: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Smooth-Gran-Turismo-5-Will-Need-10-GB-of-Hard-Drive-154401.shtml

Bah this is just turning out to be a fanboy thread, I'm merely stating the technical side of the console. This might explain further. http://gamer.blorge.com/2010/01/05/ps3-smoothing-beyond-that-of-high-end-pc-graphics-card/the ps3 is better at "MSAA". I have both and there really isn't much between the two, it mainly comes down the games and who has done a better job with each platform.
