Editing Head Mesh

Hey all.

 

I recently installed a bunch of mods fromt he asian forums that gave me access to a race called Lop-eared Elf mini. I made one of these characters, and everything was great, she turned out pretty good looking (IMO)

However, there are some problems. Her head and body are a bit out of proportion compared to my other character.. and I realized what the MINI meant.. its a loli character OMFG. No offense to those who are into that kind of stuff, but I makes me a bit uneasy. When moving around in the game, she has to look up at everyone when talking to them.. and she cant wear sunglasses or hats because her head mesh is out of proportion and they appear like.. inside of her head and stick out.

 

I like the look of her, despite the size of her head tough.. so I want to find a way for this to work.

 

So now finally we come to the topic.. HOW DO I EDIT THE HEAD MESH? When I used nifSkope and R-clicked the head, then went to TRANSFORM -> EDIT -> change the "SCALE" to 0.9 -> SAVE, I felt pretty good about my modding abilities.. but then I went in the game, and the face is gone and theres just floating teeth and eyes. Thankfully I backed up the original file.

 

What did i do wrong? How do I scale the size of the head down?

This may not help, but if it were me I'd download the hair meshes that are for the regular sized head (the ones without x in the file name), then create a new race based on the Imperial (so it'd be regular size) and swap out the head mesh with either Ren's or one of Idkrrr's to get more of an anime look. You can use the lop ears too.

 

This may not be the answer you were looking for but if it works it might save some effort trying to resize the head.

The head mesh for Lop Ears Elf Mini is simply the Lop Ears Elf head scaled to 1.1700 the original size (as it's based around the x117 'child' race). If you go back to KumaKumaKokuma's blog (where the mod originates and is made available), you can find the original Lop Ears Elf mod, which is the same size as the Vanilla head.

HMM really? Ill go look around, thanks a lot. Its just a total pain trying to make sense of everything on international sites with google translate

 

Still open to suggestions as to how the mod the actual file i have though, because i value any modding knowledge. Also, I really dont look foreward to re-doing the face again lol.. I just know itll feel a bit off no matter how much i tweak it.
