I'm new to this game and i just got expelled from the mages guild for stealing som stuff :blush:

Now i have to get 20 or so bear pelts!!! Where can i find bears??? I've been looking all over Cyrodill

and i cant find anything :( where are they?

You need pelts fo the fighters guild

And if you're a good level there should be lots of bears

 

Don't go to the west weald you only get their teeth

Most animals and such are based on leveled lists. In this case. you need to get to level 9 for forrest areas, 16 for everywhere else for them to start spawning (with the default leveled lists) or spending alot of time running between shops trying to buy pelts. Bear pelts are often sold/found in general stores, or with the usual clutter you find associated with bandits. If you're low level, and have exausted all the stores, I suggest hitting some of the bandit caves, or clearing out their camps, you may run into a few of them.

I found the most bears west of the imperial city, try north of skingrad. Again, hope you are leveled, otherwise its going to be a while before you can redeem yourself. Does anyone know if you can buy bear pelts, perhaps that would speed things up?

Vagrant0 has already said you can buy bear pelts in shops 5 posts back. Would posters please read the whole thread before replying.

As a newbe you should always, save, save, save. Don't use f5 as this just overwrites the last f5 save. If you make a big error, just go back to the last saved game before it happens, and don't make the same mistake again. Just a suggestion, for someone that's played alot of Morrowind and Oblivion, and has had to go back several saves to fix a majormistake or a major glich in the game.

 

As for bear pelts, many merchants sell 5 pelts at a time. Check all the cites, you should be able to get 20 in no time. Or go to the mountain paths east of Burma and north of Corral. Them there be bear country, though sometimes hard to find.
