Well... Character building, chances are, you'll want some new races. Look up Xenius' Custom Race Pack, Ren's Beauty Pack, Cute Elves, Corean Mod, and Moonshadow Elves. Those are some of the most popular. As for leveling guides and recommended mods, check out here and here. Lastly, nice items generally come from exploring and doing quests, or more often from installing mods, so just look around, in game and online, and you're bound to find something good!

Hope to see you around on the forums, and welcome!

Just discovered the world of oblivion. Any suggestions are welcome.

-Best way to build a character, what are the good mods to install, easiest way to level-up, where to get nice items?..

Tnx

The first thing I'd recommend for mods is a body replacer (the vanilla body looks anorexic to me). I use:

HG EyeCandy Body by RAIAR and Madcat221 (Uploaded by }{ellKnight)

Male Body Repacer Ver 4 by Robert2

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14942

The next mods I'd recommend are:

Apachii Goddess' Store (for female Characters)

Apachii Hero's Store (For Male Characters)

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22962

To team up with someone:

CM Partners Basic by CutThroat Mods (Uploaded by Blackie) the core for any CM Partner mods:

To make Cyodiil feel populated:

Crowded Roads by BkWyrm13:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4820

Crowded Cities by BkWyrm13:

To make a sojourn into Oblvion a scary prospect:

Legions of Oblivion Organised Armies by lone_warrior (Uploaded by ukguy19)

That's all for now, enjoy!

I suggest you play Oblivion with out mods at first, do the game for a while until you have the basics down and then start again, if you wish, after modding the game.
