why dont your characters get fat or grow longer hair or get larger musles all things grand theft auto has

wich if you think about oblivion is a next gen rpg and san andreas is kinda an old game oblivion should have covered that and more i can make my characters face as fat as i want so dont you think the body should at least get a little bigger or a little smaller it might just be me but with grand theft auto 4 coming out and considering how good san andreas was you gta4 is going to be way bigger and better than san andreas so do you think oblivion should add a little more character desighn options or at least let you use your bow on horse back for a middevil drive by

Not to be a jerk or anything but it would really make your posts a lot easier to read if you didn't make your entire post one big misspelled run on sentence. I guarantee you'd get better responses with at least better punctuation.

But I do agree with you about the body designs, I'm pretty sick and tired of seeing these beggars and mages running around with just as muscular and ripped of a body as my 127 strength Argonian. They should have at the very least made it possible to alter the tone and bulkiness of your character's muscles and change their fat content, if not made it based on stats such as strength and athletics.

As I recall, their excuse was that allowing for freeform body mass would screw up their clothing meshes, as they aren't adaptable. Making them adapt to different bodies is supposedly time consuming, and also reduces performance (I think?). San Andreas can afford to do it I suppose because, let's face it, the graphics are pretty primitive by modern standards, so there's less tying up performance.

Oblivion is about roleplaying. SA is about the Mafia. (read: Cosa Nostra crap)

People who play games like Oblivion tends to be slightly more intelligent than people who play shoot'em'ups the whole day.

Is this really for you? How come you got here? Spelling "tessource.com" is hard. "forum.gamingsource.net" is even worse...

GTA 4? What are you talking about? It's not going to be better than SA. As a matter of fact, GTA 4 has been out for more than three years. It's called "Vice City" (Two words, that one is really hard?)

Think before you speak. Think again before you post it on the Internet!

While I agree that better punctuation would make Mr Destructo's post easier to read, it does not give you an excuse GBHis to be insulting in reply. I don't mind a little light sarcasm but your post is dangerously close to flaming. So please take your own advice to heart!

Personally, I would't want to potray my character as a fat short guy, its just natural instinct to want the strongest, best looking & and near 0 body fat...just the way i look in real life...ok ok fine i don't:(

Well im not super smart im just 13. I was only using gta as an example because it is similer to oblivion in a way and is a good game. Oh I and if you think spelling tessource.com is so hard and forum.gamingsource.net is even worse then maybe oblivion is not for you. It looks like i am also more mature than you not getting upset and having a temper tantrume over a simple comparison. >:(

Im not sayin your person has to be short and fat he can be how ever you wanted him to be. Im just sayin that would be nice but as swich explained it would be alot of work to do that.

Indeed, small little things like having your name spelled out in a Black Horse Courier article (the game does take note of your name, after all) would have been, I think, well within the bounds of technology, but overlooked. Quite in the same vein as a subtly-morphing body model.

When NPC's spout "Look at the muscles on you!", it would make sense if your character's appearance actually justified that remark (and made a gender check so that a male NPC never says that to a male character!).

Well... Oblivion is a role playing game first of all, not a first-person shooter, so graphics doesn't matter much. What matters is the atmosphere of the game, the world you may live in and the ability to live in this world.

Exactly, so why did they focus on the graphics so much? A good looking game with no substance is about as nice as having a good looking girlfriend with an IQ of 40. Its nice at first, but in awhile, you never wanna look them again. In fact, some shoot em' ups i've played have a better atmosphere than Oblivion. Little things like your hair getting longer if you don't go to the barber for two months add to the atmosphere. Heck, they coulda made some use of the paintbrushes and pens and inkwells by adding a very primitive drawing system! Also, since alotta people can't even run the game at the best graphic levels (So you can tell its leaning towards the xBox 360) it woulda just been better to add the tiny little extra level of immersion. Being able to carve things with a dagger would have been fantastic!(A little thing that was left out of Fable) In fact, I would play at the lowest graphics settings and resolution, and be able to have seprate paths for each quest, including the main one. and also, I wouldn't mind if guards had sometimes randomly killed eachother if i could get the Radiant AI that they showed in the preview. The game probably would have been more popular for its roleplaying-ness and immersion then that some people like it for is Graphics. Good graphics can fade in a year, while a good game people will remember for years, and maybe even still be playing them.
