Balagor
@jim_UK really nice relaxing mode. Nice black beauty, I love black cats. @illiad86 just love the "nut case mode" pic, and the expression "nut case mode"We have an expression in Danish for "nut case mode", but we inherit more and more English expressions. This one is a good candidate. I will use it in the future

All of a sudden, his ears will bend back, lets off this weird howl, and he just bolts across the room. Then he'll jump the wall a few times lol. Sometimes he goes in the bath tub and goes all crazy in it. Lately he's been running at his cardboard scratcher at full speed and diving into it so it slides across the floor  . I'm gonna try to get pictures of it sometime haha. Such cute dog Push! :D
ub3rman123
My mom insisted, and we now have a betta as well. I figured it'd keep the burgeoning guppy population down. I've had no luck with my attempts at that. I've tried putting my most massive plecostomus in there, my most vicious goldfish, a large fantail, and everyone refused to eat baby guppies. Must be because they're so darn cute. Well, the betta is behaving itself very nicely. It doesn't get flustered up or anything, and it's unfortunately not eating the baby guppies. Its first day in the tank I think the guppies scared it. It had been in there 15 minutes and it was in the corner with a huge cloud of guppies staring at it. I've found that bettas are also afraid of mirrors. I had to remove one from the room, the poor thing got stressed at the sight of what looked like another betta. Very pretty fish when it has its fins up, but I'd rather not stress it.
Pushkatu
Welcome to the betta club my friend. Well, since you've done it all I can say now is that I'm glad you did. Bettas might be called "fighting fish", but it's not thier fault. People are the actual beasts that make them fight. In the wild the weaker males flee and rarely get killed. There are hundres of fish species that are teritorial, but since bettas had the "luck" to look so beautiful people prefered them. Anyway I hope you will enjoy having him around as much as I enjoy having mine over here(he sleeps now so shht). Pet shops keep them in tanks with other species of fish, so there are chances that if they stayed there long enough they won't mind other fish, but don't forget they are still wild animals and act based on their instincts. In time you will know what I mean. I keep only my female betta with other fish and for two months nothing happened, until 2 days ago when one of my male guppy had half of his tale missing. Funny thing is she ignores their fry completly. Anyway please feel free to post at least a couple of pictures with him and with the tank, I'd love to meet him "in person". On a side note, I went to the local pet shot today and I saw this beautiful double tail betta(not yet adult) and I was so tempted to buy him, but I have only two tanks set up right now and each has a betta in it, so I figured it would be better if I don't. It broke my heart, but if they don't sell him soon I might just prepare another tank just for him. Cheers,Pushkatu!
AliasTheory
"Betta club?" AH HA I see what you did there. ...yeah, I know, that was lame. Speaking of which, my grandmother has one. I'll be back sometime to post a new picture of my dog, which is on my IPhone right now. Can't wait to see her again. [EDIT] Just remembered I have another one, so here's the other one too. http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/6616/img0232v.jpg http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5111/img0234vz.jpg Edited November 25, 2010 by AliasTheory

Illiad86
Ah cool tiger barbs :D They get pretty mean when they get bigger so I've heard. We bought a couple of those but they didn't survive the transfer to our tank :( Beautiful kitty :) Lol, mine's sitting in his new shoe box :P Ah boy...speaking of tank. The ballast in the lighting fixture burned out. We were thinking it was the light, so we went and bought a new light for $17...(wtf expensive). Popped that in and nothing...so we opened up the fixture...ballast smells like it toasted itself. Returned the light atleast...but finding another fixture is a different story. We're using this other fixture we have...but it's not the correct light spectrum I think...water looks like pee under the light lol...plus it's too big for the tank. I've been hunting online...can't seem to find a new fixture for under $40...don't understand why they would charge that much. Ours was $30 something...and it dies in 2 years...:verymad: so I won't be buying another one of this brand. Any of you fishy people know a cheap place? :)
Pushkatu
Awesome! That's quite a big fish tank you got there. I have close to 100 guppy babies so yeah, I know how they are
