Old Email Problem?

I just got an email from the server saying I had a PM. Nothing out of the ordinary there. Except the message date was from August 5, and the PM it led to has already been deleted. I found 3 other messages lurking in my inbox that are even older than that. Is the server trying to clear a backlog of old emails or have I uncovered an interesting anomaly?

It's never happened to me however a few months ago I recieved an email saying I have a personal message, but it didn't say from who. I went to my inbox on the nexus and nothing was there.

 

I thought nothing of it to be honest and nothing else has happened since.

 

It's also possible that the email came from your email provider that was stuck in the servers and put out by them, but there is no way of telling whether it came from the nexus recently or from your provider =/

I doubt it's because it got stuck on my end. I use my own email server rather than the one from my provider. Nothing has been stuck in the queue on my end. It's not a huge deal but it's still weird that emails a month or more old are trickling in out of nowhere like this.

Hmmmm, I've never experienced anything on that magnitude.

Hopefully someone with a similar experience will post here =)
