K00L Posted September 18, 2010 Share Posted September 18, 2010 So many times before Oblivion failed to install, either lacking a texture file or because some part of it was not allowed to be installed. Long ago Oblivion used to not start through the launcher, and when it did start it crashed so often. Then came along a short period of grace, and that short period was abruptly ended by the first restoration. Ah, then it finally reinstalled and ran with only one problem, I could not swing swords or fire bows without the game closing. Finally I found the fix, a wonderful mod, only for this second time of beauty to end from a second restoration! Ah, and again the game was installed and we had so many mods and such a long time that it ran so well (on ultra high quality!), but again it was stopped. This last time it was ended was a sad day indeed, as my graphics card died and now I must wait. But then it struck me! While browsing online a found a virtual graphics card and a mod named Oldblivion, Oblivion can run yet again! But as always something fails me, this time to end forever, as the failure was none other than my Oblivion GOTY CD. I cleaned it, and tried and tried again, and finally it noticed the disc! It even has its name, but with no luck I click on it, and as My Computer freezes a new window opens. What could this be? Oh s***! A freaking how would you like to open this freaking CD with one of these freaking programs window!The End YAHHH! I made a wonderful song of my disappointments, I love Oblivion and LOVE some of the mods for it, I used to play this game all the time, and now I know I'll have to buy the game and a graphics card again. I don't know why I put my troubles on here, I guess cause sometimes its funny to see what people say. :laugh: Oh well I'll get over this eventually, sometime when I accept that I can only play one of my CD games (Spore.... blegh) and many online games, though these get boring very quickly. nosisab Posted September 18, 2010 Share Posted September 18, 2010 Too much rant, too little actual information. The only sensible answer is: you are doing something wrong. To get actual and useful help you need to provide actual and useful description of the actual issue(s). Where applies, the mods you use with their load order. The whole point of this just was me ranting, it is nothing that can be fixed I simply need to buy a new game. I just kept trying to get Oblivion to run, and the it detected the disc (unlike before it just kept acting like it was a blank CD), but after it found it the symbol by Oblivion GOTY turned into the white paper symbol with the window on it and a box popped up saying " Please use the control panel to install and configure system components." Disc 2 worked once, but disc two is just for installing Knights and Shivering Isles, after that it does what the first does. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
