WarKirby3333
Making a wife who does stuff would be fairly easy, but only if she lived in a preset place. Having the player able to choose where to have the marital home would be a lot harder. Even more so if she were to follow you around. Nather Khan
thank u haslador, finnaly someone says something usefull... now as I said before, I'm a modder but I can't make mods for oblivion. I'm not so good at coding but desighn scetch plan braintorm mods modeling and anims are my thing... so If any of u modders out there have an Idea for a mod and need someone to design concept pics feel free to mail me, and i'll find some one to make the code and things I struggle with... now to the point... Oblivion is a great game, but lacks realism so what if some sentimental players want to settle down a bit for a while before he goes saving the world again... awnser: a family mod + points:------------ gives a player some feeling of progress- gives player something, someone to come home to after a life risking adventure- makes player feel warm and fuzzy or proud to see his child/cub (depends on race) grow- allows life to go on in the game instead of seeing the same adult people u saw 50 game years ago still there and looking 25. - points:----------- may cause player to feel like slave to commanding thief shouting wife- player may feel that the game has turned into medival sims game- player hates changing dipers and leaves family for open world leaving them all alone- some players might enjoy killing all the old and waiting for the young to get old in order to slay again sowach'tink?(so wach a' tink?)(so watch ya think?)(so what do you think?) Mercbird
Apologies Nather, its the kitty cat pic that made me go dearie... All good points made, if you combine the family with something like a ranch/farm that you can develop would add to that sense of achievement and warm fuzzy I think ( the landlord thing in Morrowind mannaged to completely sidetrack me off the main quest). And it would give you a preset marital home. But what about female characters? Do we get a husband (and pregnant!?) or do we go for a same sex setup. Or do we just get a housekeeper maby. Romance mods are a bit tricky in that respect. It's ok Mercbird, i should actualy apologise I was stresed up that day coz my grand mother (92) just died and when I got the news i spilled my coffie over my keyboard (i was busy moving files) and my oblivion folder nearly got trashed so I was just in a bad mood... sorry... but i like the thing u said bout the female chars getting pregnant. I think u could just get a item in ur inventory (cake in oven) that get heavyer over time making u opartialy over encumbered and adds an item (shirt) to ur inven. that has a big hump like a... u know cake in oven thing (sorry, don't know how to describe it... don't want to insult u ladys.) and later u go to sleep and wake up with a baby in ur arms (like a weapon that cannot be removed) and later it gets removed and u have a little npc running around the house... cute ( i'm thinking how a little kajit would look, sorta like my avatar, cute)
Abramul
While I can't answer the main question, I do have a few ideas. Ownership - Create a hidden faction of which the player and spouse/partner/what-have-you are members. Assign ownership of player houses to this faction. For house mods, you would have to change the ownership yourself, but that shouldn't be too hard. Oh noes, he killed a kiddie! - Spell: Mara's Lightning.Effects: Shock Damage 50 points for 60 seconds, script command player.setav health 0 (it's not actually player, I think it's 000014 or something).Use: Triggered when player kills a child.Children should only be able to be damaged by the player, so as to prevent kiddie corpses from piling up. Note-the lightning is just so it fits the name, other names and corresponding damage types would work fine.
