Aslik
Every time I try and enter Rivet city one of the two main ways, the game crashes. I've got nearly a hundred mods and turned them all off in groups until only one mod was left activated, FO3 Wanderer's edition, and it still crashes when I try and enter. I've even turned off wanderer's edition, leaving it as *just the base game with expansions* and it crashes. So now I have no idea what to do to get this to work anymore. I can't play this game, won't play it, without access to the rivet city marketplace. So what the hell do I do?Sorry for not listing the full extent of my mods list, I felt it's a bit pointless seeing as I've deactivated them all and it still doesn't help. I even tried deactivating them and going to an interior cell, the megaton home and waited for 3 or 4 days hoping that would somehow reset something and it didn't help. Just for transparency's sake, I'm using windows 7. Processor is Intel Core i5-4680 @ 3.40 GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Cores. 16 Gigs of Ram. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660. For some reason it's listing the video adapter RAM in bytes. So it's two billion bytes. The available physical memory is 10 gigs, and this is all on a desktop computer.I have the game located in E:/Programs/Fallout 3, I have all the DLC's and I've used both the Nexus Mod Manager (current) and Fallout Mod Manager (current?), and the current SKSE. Aslik
Alright, I've edited my first post and provided as much information as I can. Thank you.
M48A5
Please see this: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1465357-installing-fallout-3-with-windows-78-and-xp/ for instructions on getting the game installed and running with a quad core CPU and Windows 7. You have too many files that you are trying to load. You need to reduce your load list to about 130 +/-. Your load list is not correct. Either use BOSS or go to FWE mod page, scroll down the page to the sample load list. Also note the Mart's Mutant Mod plugins that are included in FWE. I am not going to search through that mess, but you need compatibility patches. I did not see one for MMM and FWE. I recommend Blackened http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18173/? but it only works with the Paradox Ignition version of Mart's Mutant Mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16787/? Aslik
I've already done the things needed to run quad core and win 7, I believe. As for the too many files thing, I've run the game successfully up until this point of rivet city, AND I turned off ALL my mods and it still wouldn't let me into the city.Wasn't BOSS supposedly replaced by LOOT, or LOOT had the same functions? Because I used LOOT and it didn't help. Just for the sake of trying, I've used BOSS too and nothing seems to have changed. As for the mart's mutant mod plugin, I turned off MMM and ran it with just FWE, and again it wouldn't let me into Rivet city. Purr4me
send me your saved game "last saved game that crashed in attempting to enter Rivet city with all game mods loaded and one with Just fallout 3 only.If I can get Either of these saved games t even load on my machine, I can determine what the cause is. But, IF you have not disabled Fose...because you DO need FOSE to run most of that mess, that will tell whats wrong too.M48A5You have too many files that you are trying to load. You need to reduce your load list to about 130 +/-.Is correct, the load order of that assembly is out of order, massive conflicts known to us are seen there and way too much data can be posted as to what.But...If you have not tried Just fallout 3 with a fresh out of the vault 101 saved game?...yet?your wasting our time here. if the game allows entry into the ship with just the main game and a clean saved game, it's a mod conflict..and the conflict can be hidden too, as in NOT visible in any tools, but as an out come of that mess loaded all at once, the conflict can be what ever gets loaded and saved in your saved game archive. It carries with it code from all those mods, scripts that are loading and running while you travel do not get removed from the archive Just because you Un ticked a mess of mods, It 's suppose is to store data so you can reload the game. IF you find a box out side the carrier area, deposit all belongings, inventory into it, go naked, enter the ship...if then you STILL crash...it's a NPC or armor mod that is at fault. something that changes the world space inside the doors chambers...the Entrance to rivet city is not a ship, it's a stair well cell, a known bugged up cell. The Doors..are in a ton of those mods you have listed. The nav meshes are listed in a lot of them , you have one mod that is supposed to remove nav mesh bugs loading way too high....but even that is defunct at this stage. Take the advise given ,present us with a clean saved game from this. NO FOSE...IF that code is running , it will hide the code causing the bug in the first place.complexity deserves Frustration. It's the nature of the beast. kitty

BlackRampage
Wasn't BOSS supposedly replaced by LOOT, or LOOT had the same functions? Because I used LOOT and it didn't help. Just for the sake of trying, I've used BOSS too and nothing seems to have changed. What's the point of using either of them if you don't follow up on the warnings/recommendations they give? Read the LOOT log you posted and act upon the recommendations it gives. Most of the recommendations it gives aren't all that worrying but stuff like this for example should definitely be acted upon:FastTravelIndoors.espCRC: 42953E9AWarning: In addition to identical-to-master records, this mod also includes several dirty edits in the form of changes to e.g., lighting and water level values. Aslik
1. send me your saved game "last saved game that crashed in attempting to enter Rivet city with all game mods loaded and one with Just fallout 3 only. 2. But, IF you have not disabled Fose...because you DO need FOSE to run most of that mess, that will tell whats wrong too. 3. 4. Take the advise given ,present us with a clean saved game from this. NO FOSE...IF that code is running , it will hide the code causing the bug in the first place.1. Now, when you say with just fallout 3 only, do you mean with all the mods ticked off and then a save afterwards, or do you mean a completely fresh new game in which I start with no mods, base game, and travel all the way back to rivet city again? 2. I'm...*pretty* sure I've had FOSE running. I mean, when I run the game with Nexus Mod Manager, I use the option "Run FOSE" to start the game. 3. I'm not trying to enter the stairwell, I'm trying to enter the rivet city market. However, I tried what you said and dumped everything I had into a container near the bridge and it crashed again regardless. Mind you, this is with all the mods turned on. 4. So...you want me to try and run it without FOSE going and THEN present a LOOT log? Sorry if I'm coming off as an idiot here, in the past when I ran into issues like this I'd rage quit and move on to a new game without trying to fix things, so this is all new ground for me. 1. What's the point of using either of them if you don't follow up on the warnings/recommendations they give? Read the LOOT log you posted and act upon the recommendations it gives. 2. Most of the recommendations it gives aren't all that worrying but stuff like this for example should definitely be acted upon:Stuff about fast travel indoors mod 1. Well...the recommendations mostly involve using FO3Edit, and on the page for that it said something like "if you don't know what this is, you probably shouldn't be using it." and since I didn't know what it did and it didn't say on the description page, I figured I'd consult you guys first. 2. Well...that lousy mod didn't work anyway, so I don't have a problem deleting it from my data folder. Will just deleting it like that work or do I gotta do something else like use some special program to wipe it from the save data or something? Again, sorry for being a newbie to some of this stuff. I've modded games for a while, but typically by the time I'd run into crashes that totally disrupted my game, I'd have had serveral hours into my play by then and didn't mind giving up the modded game for something else entirely. This is only a few hours in relatively and now I wanna fix it.

Um...I'm...not entirely sure? I mean, I'm pretty sure some mod I installed asked me to install the skyrim script extender for it to work, so I did. Don't know what to tell you otherwise.
