odd spell visual effects

I am having odd spell visual effects when healing myself, and no matter what I do or what settings I change, I cannot eliminate the problem. What happens is that after casting a heal spell on myself, usually after multiple casts in a row but rarely on the first time, most of the screen will get washed out completely white, and it takes at least a few seconds to clear back to a normal screen. I have already tried using Wrye Bash to elimitate the possibility of the abomb, and that did not fix the problem. Here is a screenshot link:

I would like to add a list of my current active mods as well, but I can't figure out how to do that. Can someone please help me figure out what is doing this? I am at my wit's end.

In Wrye Bash, right click on the 'File' tab header and select 'List Mods'. Copy and paste the ENTIRE box, including spoiler/code boxes.

Oh, thank you! I knew there was a way to do it but could not remember how since I usually muddle through problems by myself! Here is the list:

The reason I asked you to post the ENTIRE window, is that the Spoiler tucks the list away, and the Code colour codes the list, so that troubleshooters can see more information, like which mods have been disabled, etc.

However, though you are running Wrye Bash, I do not see a Bashed Patch?

Oops, sorry, I thought the spoiler tag was an error. That is correct that I am not running a bashed patch at the moment. I had been using Wrye Bash with Morrowind and had forgotten about it. I am in the process of trying to clean up Oblivion a bit, and I have deleted several mods that were incompatible with each other, although I may use bashed patch later.

The thing is, one of the main purposes of Wrye Bash, and Bashed Patch in particular, is to overcome issues like the one you are having. With so many mods running in a hap-hazard order (no BOSS ordering), it is virtually guaranteed that you will run into conflicts, and they can manifest themselves in numerous ways, including issues like you are experiencing. I think you are not going to find and cure this problem easily without BOSS and Bash.

This might be a stupid question, but what is BOSS? Is it part of Wrye Bash or something I missed and should know about? Here's another question for you: I bash patched my game yesterday and a new mod I had added in the past few days, Fashion Anvil, stopped working. Without the patch running, it worked just fine, but with the patch turned on, the chest from Fashion Anvil fails to spawn. Any advice for how to fix that problem?

BOSS is Better Oblivion Sorting Software and you should replace the masterlist.txt with the latest version. Run BOSS before you rebuild your bashed patch, and make sure that Wrye Bash has it's Bash Tags (main window, bottom right) set to Automatic, so it uses the BOSS suggestions automagically. This should sort your problem out (FashionAnvil.esp is in the new masterlist).

Okay, so here's another question: Just last night, with bashed patch turned on, I was doing a fighter's guild quest, one of the ones in Chorrol, where the guy asks you to meet him in his house after dark to discuss it. His house is in the poor part of town, past the chapel. So I run over there to talk to the guy, and all I see is rolling landscape and a few doors with no buildings to hold them up. Turning bashed patch off, the buildings reappeared. Would BOSS possibly help to solve that issue also?

Let me get this straight: you are using a Bashed Patch without BOSS? If so, then that is most likely why you ran into that problem -- it is not a requirement but with so many mods, using a Bashed Patch without any thought for load order is almost pointless. The two main features of BOSS are to order your mod list and provide Bash tags for Wrye Bash. If you ensure that Wrye Bash has it's Bash Tags window (bottom right of main window) set to Automatic, it will use the Bash suggestions from BOSS for any of your (recognised) mods, eliminating conflicts like those you encountered.
