If I could turn time back around.

Why is it so quiet without that presence which was strong and gay,

Why is the wind still, the sun shy, and the sky ever so grey?

Can you never return to this world, that was once vibrant and bound,

If it were possible to turn time back around.

It was so recent that your breath came from born,

That when your were naked, it took first form.

Is it so hard to take the old and turn it to new,

When all but your annoyance was what I knew.

It is true that life dies young when strained with spite,

But your enduring struggle, was the briefest fight.

Why would my pride hold water you under,

From which the seed of death was my only blunder.

I can see in truth, the action that is in motion,

But to live and to strive...was that your only notion?

For it was in vain when you cried out these words,

If only I would listen over the wings of the birds.

I took for granted the love you made, and had to offer,

For as my little brother, that had no meaning to my coffer.

My pride and my greed, was blind to me, but late found,

For you would still be here if I could turn time back around...
